Attended the Erie Microbrew Fest and the Avalon is within a short walking distance of the venue. That is the only thing going for this hotel. The rooms are drab and questionable. There are beds, shower, toilet and tv; but nothing remarkable to say about them. It was a warm day and the a/c unit would not work. Called the...

The Avalon has a great location right in the downtown area of Erie, P.A. but...... The hotel has supposedly been renovated but it looks old and drab. The "Superior" room we had was quite large but there was no place to sit except the taped up desk chair. There is plenty of room for a sofa or a comfortable chair...

My friends and I booked a room for a bachelorette party. We checked in at 8 o'clock and received three keys to our room. None of them worked. We got them fixed and again, they did not work. So we were switched to another room that hadnt been cleaned yet. So we were transferred to another room and received 20%...

We booked and PAID for a room in SEPTEMBER 2014 for a stay in JULY 2015. In the middle of April they called and cancelled our reservation. They said they were overbooked. It took them 7 months to figure this out!?! I think they're full of crap. So, needless to say, they weren't willing to refund me 7 months of...

A very bazar and unpleasant experience Cons: - Elevators did not work, and the only stairs available were services stairs - dimly lit, narrow, and strangely positioned. - WiFi would not work - Dirty room - floor was visibly dirty, shower curtain was moldy, grime around the faucet at sink - Parking garage was poorly maintained and did not feel...

No A/C in any of the rooms was working, was told by staff to close curtains and hope room didn't get too hot....... Filthy rooms, poor service, elevator broke down twice while I was there. Continental breakfast was a joke...... Not worth the money I paid for the room.

Booked here for a last minute trip when most other area hotels were sold out. It looked ok in the pics so I thought I would give it a try. Their was only one person at front desk and a line that took almost 30 minutes to get to the counter. After all that, was given a king bed room...

I would not stay there again. Upon check in the front desk staff was less than courteous. The couch in our room was stained, which is disgusting. The furniture was well worn to say the least. There was no room in the parking garage, which is not very large nor well lit. We had to park down the street at...
