If you want a place off the beaten track this may be good for you. Remember this is a working farm with a 100 cattle. Not much in the way of up keep has been done either. Nobody mowed the grass, very large branches from a storm 3 months ago still are laying around. Gates left open, to maneuver around....

Absolutely loved our stay here. So quiet, peaceful and great to see how simple the Amish live. Ben and the family here were very helpful, showed us around the farm and breakfast was just perfect! Be sure to book a dinner somewhere with a local and get some beautiful homely home grown food also.

I wrote a glowing review in August 2013 of Beacon Hollow, but I now have to retract my recommendation. while the farm itself is beautiful and the location is perfect, the cottage has went downhill a bit - not very clean, breakfast very skimpy, had to ask for tp, etc. The main problem is that the older Amish son is...

The best part of the guest house is being on a working Amish farm. You can watch the milking of the cows, see the newborn calves, pet the horses, etc. The house itself is comfortable but simple. The breakfast people rave about in other reviews is fine, but nothing special. One small slice of soft sandwich bread per person and...

My mom, 2 daughters and I recently stayed in the "Dawdi haus" at the farm and absolutely loved it! The Riehl family were kind, caring hosts who were willing to answer questions about the Amish culture and make sure we were comfortable. The house suited our family well and the swing set and trampoline were a nice surprise for the...

My wife and I truly enjoyed the simplicity and relaxed atmosphere. Mr. Ben would come over in the evenings and we would sit and share our lives with each other....our differences and the things that we had in common. I loved getting up early in the morning with a cup of coffee and walking past the main house to a...

My wife and I were given this stay as a gift from my daughter and son-in-law for Christmas. The kids know that Lancaster County hold a special place in our heart. It was a rare opportunity to sample a bygone era. The Amish pace is relaxing and steady. These are some of the hardest working people you will ever get...

My sister and I stayed here last summer to celebrate her birthday. The food and family at Beacon Hollow are amazing. The food is fresh and tasty. The family took some time to visit with us and teach us about their culture. One could walk to town from the bed and breakfast, or drive the scenic roads. I highly recommend...

My friend and I stayed at Beacon Hollow in March, 2015 for 3 days. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! Anna delivered breakfast each morning and most of the items were homemade including the wonderful yogurt, jam, granola, and bread. And, the eggs were fresh from the chickens! Her husband Ben gave us a tour of their dairy operation, which was...

We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay at Beacon Hollow Farms. The snow made for beautiful scenery. Ben, Anna, and their children were the perfect hosts. We toured the dairy barn during the evening milking and saw the new calf born that day. The continental breakfast of homemade yogurt with homemade raspberry topping was delicious as were the homemade bread and...
