We booked two nights and ended up leaving. Originally, we saw he posts about a cozy, relaxing home on beautiful Playa Marsella with a warm, inviting host. This is no what I arrived to. There was an earlier post the owner, Mark, having parties and taking over the house but disregarded it. I shouldn't have. We met the other couple...

Pelonbbq, Owner at Casa Pelon, responded to this review

It is unfortunate that these people were not happy with there stay. As the owner of Casa Pelon I take these kind of reviews seriously and will address the issues of broken screens and a refrigerator that needs defrosting. Something that needs to be done often I might add. On the other hand the clients said that they walked home...

Nice front porch to hang out with the best view, just 20 meters to the beach, top location! Playa Marsella was wonderful in April and except for the week end we had the beach for ourselves. Mark let us stay at his place altough he was gone for a trip himself, which was great and worked out well! We had...

Casa Pelon is by far one of the best hostels I've visited. Mark was a perfect host and made me and my boyfriend feel right at home from the moment I arrived. Not only did Mark introduce us to his friends and got us integrated into the local community, he also let us sample his delicious smoked meats. The breakfast...

A chill, intimate environment. We had just been partying for a few days in San Juan del Sur, and the day and a half we spent here was perfect for relaxing at the end of our trip. The B&B is located in a house a stone's throw from a beautiful and quiet beach. The rooms are small but clean. This...

Casa Pelon of Playa Marcella is by far the nicest bed and breakfast I have seen in all my year of traveling. It was a pleasant and relaxing change of pace from staying in hostels most of my trip. Wake up to the sound of the waves just 100 meters form your bedroom door, a great outdoor patio/living room/kitchen, and...

We had the pleasure to stay with Mark at Casa Pelon where we lounged around staring at the most beautiful view of Playa Marsella and listening to the pounding surf. Close to great bars and restaurants. Very nice breakfast in the morning and enjoyed the stories Mark had also.

Bathroom wasnt clean when we got there and wasnt cleaned over the 4 days that we stayed. Owner had guests over after a party, stayed up late being loud outside our room, and again in the morning. It's his house he can party if he wants to. there were several instances where he acted very unprofessional and should rethink his...

We were able to get a hold of Mark just 2 days before our arrival in Nicaragua and he had a ride already set up for us….Thank goodness, as this was our first time to this part of the world. Upon arrival we were so surprised at how beautiful his place was and the Fantastic view of the ocean (just...

We stayed up the street from Casa Pelon at Mango Rosa where we met Mark. We became fast friends and he was generous enough to have us over for dinner on our last night in San Juan del Sur. He is sincere, attentive to his guests need and an excellent cook! What more could you ask for?!? As far as...

Mark was a great host and the place is very cozy and chill. You are steps away from the beach and a short taxi ride away from town. You can't beat the value. We got 2 double rooms for $70 a night and that was with breakfast. We are vegetarians and Mark catered to our needs. The rooms are small...

“The are two adjoining rooms but they do lock. The bathroom is adjoined to one of the bedrooms, but it locks (just remember to lock and unlock it). The one closest to the bathroom had a closet and was much bigger than the room next to it. The smaller room and a lot of windows (with screens) and if you leave them open at night, it's like sleeping in a tent.”
