Great hotel, not so much an eco lodge. Service is great and the location could not be any better. Rooms are spacious and airy. Large beds have mosquito nets. they do not serve any meals but the nextdoor restaurant does. Surfboard rental and lessons are available on the grounds. Swimming is safe except for an occasional rock. sunsets are great... More

While the beach here is beautiful and perfect for surfing, staying overnight is like being on Survivor (which is ironic because they filmed survivor on this beach). The mosquito net had holes in it and kept falling off of the wall. The fan barely made any wind - we were so hot we couldn't sleep - but didn't want to... More

We did not stay here, but wish we had. Lovely beach-unforgettable! Friendly staff. Sort of rustic, but good food. We had a wonderful ceviche and you can eat at tables right next to the beach. There was a bed of flowers in front of the hotel that was so full of butterflies it seemed as if the flowers themselves were... More

We stayed here for 4 nights. The beach is amazing for surf and just to enjoy the view with barely any people (compared to San Juan). Unfortunately it's isolated that you are dependent on the restaurant and hotel services. No one really cares and everything you ask feels like a chore to the employees. No one will clean the room... Stayed at Playa Hermosa for a night. It was stunning. Got an ocean view room for $69 with tax included (low season). The room was clean, the shower was lukewarm, the balcony was stunning, the staff was lovely. There were not a lot of people at the hotel, but there are rooms and dorms. The main draw is the beach... You can't get any closer to the beach, which was never crowded and absolutely pristine. It's a perfect spot for surfing. The staff (hotel & restaurant) were so lovely and worked tirelessly to ensure that all of our needs were met at all times. It was *hot* during our stay, so the rooms were fairly stuffy at night (no AC),... More

My boyfriend and I visited Playa for a destination wedding and have nothing but good things to say. The staff was incredibly attentive with such a large group and by the end of the trip we all knew each other on a first name basis. And the food.... the food was AMAZING. The beach is absolutely incredible and to top... More

Playa Hermosa recently hosted our destination wedding and we are still in awe about how perfect and incredible it was. My husband and I plus our 30 guests had the time of our lives! Two thirds of us stayed with Playa Hermosa and the other third stayed with Villas de Palermo for about 5 days. Eduardo, the owner of PH... More

I stayed in a dorm room for 4 nights. It was very clean and quiet. The service was good at hotel and restaurant/bar. Free breakfast included is cornflakes and coffee. It would have been nice to include a banana with the cereal as well. The other food options were fine but small portions for the prices and not much variety... More
