I agree with everything said in the prior emails. The staff is the selling point of this hotel, the breakfast is great, the coffee/tea available at all times, a nice touch. We really enjoyed our stay here and felt completely welcomed, esp out on the front porch - that was a nice touch. My only comment to add is that...

I have stayed at the Villa Isabella for the last 5 years as part of a medical mission group. Mike, Jane, Patricio, Roxanne, Juan - the whole group make it feel like home. The breakfasts are terrific and sustain us through the day. The veranda becomes the center of our world - to organize, visit, learn and relax. The hospitality...

I have stayed at Villa Isabella for several years in a row and love to return each year knowing that breakfast is ready, the bougainvillea is blooming, the hammocks are waiting and great company is there at the end of the day. DB

My criteria: I love "eye candy" i.e.,clean, beautiful tile, plants. I like: a bit of pampering but don't need really "high end" a la destination resort; low-key/layed back atmosphere; walking into the kitchen, talking with the local employees without formality; learning the "inside" stories about the place in which I am traveling; getting good recommendations on deserted beaches, local restaurants,...

I visit San Juan del Sur regularly with other members of a medical mission group. Our choice of places to stay is the Villa Isabella. Jane and Mike are always welcoming to all of their guests and provide an atmosphere that is clean, comfortable and accommodating (and of course the scrumptious breakfasts). Your hostess and host are actively involved in...

Our family of six had a fantastic stay at Villa Isabella. Our host, owner Mike, was outgoing and helpful. Our two bedroom, two bath condo was clean, well furnished, reasonably priced, and in a great location. The included breakfasts were delicious and we had a wide selection of free movies to borrow. Highly recommend this small hotel.

I've been traveling to Nicaragua for years, We always stay at the Villa Isabella in San Juan del Sur. They have back-up power, great English speaking staff, and are always knowledgable about what's going on in the area.. Mike, the owner does a great job of running the place and making sure you get the best breakfast in town.

Villa Isabella is a great hotel for those traveling with kids and looking for a personal touch. After a 3 hour bumpy trip we arrived at Villa Isabella with a 3 and 6 year old both looking for the comfort of home. My 3 year old asked Mike, the owner, if he had hot chocolate as we were checking into...

“The front second floor has a balcony but a bit more traffic noise. Room 1 is my favorite as its nestled inside the complex. You can pick from regular rooms to complete apartments. If you struggle doing stairs, make sure you are on the main floor or the outside second floor. The inside 2nd floor is very steep and small steps for someone that is a lot more unsteady. However Edwin is always happy to do what you need including packing and carrying everything you might need.”
