This is the best place to stay in SJDS for the price. I've also stayed in Pelican Eyes, which has larger rooms with balconies and great views. This boutique, however, is about 1/3-1/2 the price. The rooms are nice and attractive, with wood floors and large bathrooms. The breakfast is great and the facilities are beautiful. The LOCATION is awesome...

This little hotel only has 7 rooms and that is what makes it awesome. It is not a huge resort, it is a quiet place for relaxation and peace. The breakfast is always good. The pool is very nice. The best room in #6 - it is private in the back. We put our 2 year old to bed then...

This small hotel is really charming. When you step inside from the street, it feels like you are somewhere else than SJDS. The (small) pool area and grounds are pretty and relaxing. The place is SPOTLESS; the ladies who work there seem to be constantly cleaning. The rooms are simply decorated and comfortable. I stayed in room 6, which is...

Room and shower were very clean. Very friendly staffs, and nice breakfast. Couldn't ask for more. Location is excellent as it is in the heart of SJDS. Will definitely stay there again.

We stayed at La Posada Azul for 3 nights in November 2011. It was recommended by a hotel in Granada. At first we were only going to stay for 1 night but loved it and stayed for 3. We were in room six which is past the pool and has its own front patio. The attention to detail in the...

We returned on November 2 from a six day trip to Nicaragua of which four days were spent at the splendid Posada Azul in San Juan del Sur. Although there are myriad places to stay in SJDS I simply cannot imagine staying anywhere else if I was ever to return there. Our room (#6) was large and spacious and had...

It's been over a year since my wife and I visited here (8/2010) and I've been meaning to write a review ever since. La Posada Azul was the perfect place to start off our vacation in Nicaragua. We had attempted to stay at Pelican Eyes, but they were booked due to the filming of Survivor. Thank goodness they were! While...

We recently returned from a trip to Nicaragua, and we chose this hotel during our stay in SJDS based upon others' recommendations. At $90/night, it was quite a bit more than other hotels/B and Bs. We were expected to be blown away, and we just weren't. We were placed in room 1, which is literally in the lobby. We were...
