The history of the George is etched in every part of the building. The welcome is warm, the public rooms are dated but classic coach house style. The rooms are well appointed and with all the individuality of an aged building. Well located in the town centre. Ideal for travelling in the A304 and enjoying an evening in Amesbury.

Just held my wife's 60th birthday party at the George, we used their function room. Ideal for parties of around 60-70 people. The George did the catering for us and it was very good, worth every penny The staff were very helpful. Large carpark at the rear for guests, also easy access for the DJ. Would highly recommend.

We have not been here for a while, so decided to give it a try again. The food and service was very good. Well worth a visit. It did go down hill, when it changed hands earlier in the year. But it has all been sorted now.

I have posted more photos than any other review. We heard lots of mixed reports when we booked to sleep the night at The George. Some loved it and others hated it. We had the honeymoon suite as it was the last room. It was great for what we need after a business event over run. The friendly Louise (?)... More

This is a wonderfully old Hotel in Amesbury. It was an original coach and horses inn back in the 16th century. It is very quaint and twee with a real oldy worldly feel to it. It has a nice dining area & has themed dining evenings . The overall ambience is warm and welcoming especially on a cold and wet... More

This visit was for supper one evening mid week. Friendly lounge bar attentive staff with simple basic food. No complaints about quality or quantity, perhaps a little lacking on presentation. Reasonably priced on both dood and drink. One or two nice guest ales.

Excellent customer service and excellent value for money food which included an alcoholic drink. Nice pub with plenty of character. Good value for money. Rooms have coffee and tea making facilities and everything you would get in larger hotels
