(Please note: this is a review of the pub/restaurant, not the hotel) We had heard that the Castle had recently changed hands and were keen to see what it was like The outside of the building and the interior are lovely The staff welcoming and friendly The food was good but we felt the choices for the mains a bit...

Didn't stay here but called in for a delicious lunch. Beautifully appointed with excellent customer service - situated right in the centre of this stunningly beautiful village. Best fish finger sandwich I've had for long time, complimented by an extremely scrummy sticky toffee pudding. If you're lunching in Castle Combe, this is the place.

We called in on the off chance of getting an evening meal as we hadn't booked and were staying in the upper village. We had to wait a little while (Saturday evening) but the lounge was well appointed and comfortable so it wasn't a hardship. The menu is a little restricted, perhaps a little pricey (drinks definitely were but that's...

fantastic location, surrounded by beautiful countryside, lots of river side/country walks (the hotel can supply you with 4 or 5 different treks), weekend village market. Lovely bedrooms with wooden beamed ceilings, cosy bar with open fire places.

Went to the castle inn for a short break. Overall would really recommend this as a great place to stay. We stayed in room 1 which was "snug" (some might say on the small side) but was OK. Don't expect much by way of tv reception as this was very haphazard. Service overall was excellent - all of the staff...

As all other reviews have said, this is a fantastic building set in a beautiful location. We came here for a night - close to where we live so short travel times and we are all guilty of ignoring places on our own doorstep. Fantastic service from check in, stay, lunch, dinner, breakfast, and check out. Food was very good....

A wonderful 15 century pub a perfect place for a weekend away or even a day out for lunch. Excellent ploughmans platter - excellent food and great service and definitely worth a visit in this beautiful English village.

We really enjoyed our stay at The Castle Inn. We stayed two nights and had dinner and breakfast throughout our stay. Our room was cosy and had real character with wooden beams across the ceiling. The food was very good quality and the cuts of meat were particularly delicious. Wouldn't hesitate to stay again or recommend to others.

We popped in here for a drink and snack after taking a lovely walk around the village and local countryside. The staff were friendly and welcoming and did not seem to mind our three children roaming around and exploring the building. They offer a good selection of beers and ales. The snacks are fine and whilst they offer a lunch...
