Deborah and James Sheppard made us very, very welcome in their magnificent modern house. Our enormous room contained the sort of extras you only get in a five star luxury hotel. Breakfasts were a delight. Poulton Grange is much more than a B & B. It's a lovely Country House Hotel which doesn't serve lunch or dinner.

What a wonderful B and B -in fact it's so much more than that. The owners are delightful and are very welcoming, even staying up till 11pm as we were delayed arriving on a Friday night. They are the right blend of being chatty but also interested in their guests. As for the accommodation itself, our room was HUGE, with a walk-in wardrobe and large en suite modern bathroom with a bath and separate shower unit. The room has windows on three sides but black-out curtains so you have the best of both worlds. The beds (we had 3 singles) are incredibly comfortable too- we were a group of three long-term friends who were happy to share a room but this exceeded all our expectations as far as the accommodation was concerned. Breakfast was everything you could wish for. If possible, you pre-order the cooked part of the breakfast the night before and there is a selection of mueslis, fresh fruit and juices on offer. It's top end pricing but you get what you pay for! We'll definitely be back!

Poulton Grange is genuinely a luxury B&B. Indeed, it would easily give a 5* hotel a run for its money although with a hotel you wouldn't get the wonderful personal and friendly service from Deborah. Nothing is too much trouble for Deborah and you're made to feel special and at home as soon as you arrive. The large secluded house is surrounded by rolling hills and countryside at the end of a long private drive. Through the front door you enter a large hallway in the centre of the house with stairs that take you up to a gallery landing and the bedroom. The bedroom is fantastic: a super king size bed (6') exceptionally large, spacious, clean and bright room with picturesque views of the Wiltshire countryside from the double aspect windows. The ensuite is large with a powerful shower and separate large bath. The breakfast is superb, whatever you choose from the long list of choices. The full English is just fantastic! Deborah & James are great hosts and they do all that they can to make you feel at home. In summary, a wonderful place to stay and be spoilt.

We agree with all other reviews. Spotlessly clean luxury. Deborah promised us hares in the field outside our bedroom window, but we can't blame her when they didn't turn up ! If you have the slighest interest in matters farming and/or countryside, just start a conversation with James. He's both knowledgeable and entertaining. Highly recommended.

We revisited this modern farm for two nights and were again delighted with the tranquillity and beauty of the surrounding farmland. As before we were made most welcome. Our room was spacious and comfortable. We were given excellent advice as to local restaurants where we could get an evening meal and were given a good breakfast in the morning. Conversation with our hosts was an added bonus at breakfast. Local wildlife was a delight as before, particularly the hares and their young..

We travel a lot and agree that this is the best B&B we've ever stayed in. Deborah and James are extremely welcoming hosts, and you feel at home from the moment you arrive. Our room was very spacious and well appointed, warm and comfortable. Everything you needed was there. Breakfast is taken in their large farmhouse kitchen, with a wide selection to choose from, including a generous and very well prepared hot selection which was delicious. Advice on good local restaurants to eat in the evening was very helpful, and we appreciated the advice about interesting shops in Marlborough. It's in a wonderfully secluded location in the heart of the rolling Wiltshire downs, with big skies and a great sense of being somewhere historic. We will be there like a shot next time we need to stay in the area.

After a hard days work and staying somewhere that you would like piece and quiet, this location is the place to stay. The location is off the main road but well worth the mile drive on the farm road. The Grange is absolutely amazing. Rooms are large and spacious. Everything was perfect including the breakfast. Fabulous people. Definitely coming back

We stayed as two couples in this wonderful bed and breakfast, where we were made to feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble. It is many years since I stayed in something described as a b&b and this was far ahead of anything before and indeed many hotels visited. The rooms were of a considerable size and the facilities from the lovely en-suite, dressing room and complimentary wine and beer were excellent and tastefully done. Our room was triple aspect and not overlooked at all and it was so nice waking up to a beautiful view on all three sides.

Poulton Grange is wonderfully secluded and tranquil. Deborah and James the proprietors, were hospitable, friendly and provided a breakfast to die for.

If you are expecting a pokey second rate b&b this is NOT it! If you want luxury rooms with lovely linen, furnishings and a sumptuously comfortable bed then you have found a gem.

Thoroughly recommended.

A wonderful

We stayed five nights in the main house. Our very spacious bedroom could easily match any four star hotel in terms of comfort and amenities. Cooked breakfast was accompanied by huge range of cereals and preserves and fruit and served in the very spacious kitchen.
Deborah and James were charming and relaxed hosts, which made our stay a very enjoyable experience. We would definitely stay here again!
