I'm very sorry to say, having just stayed with Emmy and John and son Will, that Emmy is going on to another career, and so is shutting down one of the finest B&B's we've ever had the good luck to find. My husband's photography contacts brought us to this off-the-tourist-track area of rugged hills, vales and rocky ridge lines just... More

My partner and I have just returned from a 4 night stay at Lilly Bank. We had an excellent stay with first class service. The cottage is beutifully presented, room of a comfortable size. We felt very welcome at Lilly Bank, both Emmy and John made us feel right at home. The breakfasts were exceptional and definately set us up... More

We have stayed with Emmy and John several times now and have always had a fabulous welcome from the whole family (mustn't forget Lily the dog!). The very picturesque cottage is about 300 years old in the back of beyond, or so it seems when trying to negotiate the dirt track, and thay have managed to keep it looking that... More

This cottage is absolutely stunning. Our room was amazing with exposed beams with a mixture of sympathetic furnishings and a wonderful en suite bathroom. We even had access to our own sitting room! Emmy and John were absolutely brilliant to us. We were the guests from hell! We got lost on the way there (do not use sat nav as... More

We have just returned from a great weekend at Lily Bank Farm, and what a place! A great cottage, we had a lovely room with ensuite and a great view. Emmy & John were great hosts, Emmy's breakfasts were delicious and a great way to set up for a little mountain biking. After much encouragement, I joined the group for... More

We had an excellent weekend break here despite the fact it rained all weekend! The cottage is exactly the kind of place you want to come back to after a long day on the hills, the very friendly cats and dog as well as the fantastically moist carrot cake are literally the cherries on top! Emmy is so welcoming and... More

I found this b&b on tripadvisor and I cannot agree more with the previous reviews. The owners made us feel very comfortable and gave us great tips about where to go and what to do. We choose the bedroom with private bathroom and the view on the valley in the morning was absolutely amazing. Very clean bedroom and bathroom, excellent... More

This is a brilliant experience from beginning to end. Emmy and her family/pets make you feel right at home. Although you have your own lounge the cats and Lily the dog will still come to say hello. The house is the perfect combination of rustic charm with sympathetic and very comfortable updating (no chintz in sight thankfully!). Special mention to... More

We had such a wonderful weekend here! The weather was gorgeous and Emmy made us feel really welcome. The cottage is in the perfect setting, very picturesque and convinient to the local village with pubs and a station that is a 20 minute journey from Manchester. The breakfast was outstanding - delicious pancakes and poached eggs. Bed was super comfortable,... More
