A group of us working unsociable hours nearby were catered for in every way. Essentially a village pub but with Nice rooms in the roof that were quiet and comfortable - good value too. But it was the atmosphere that was remarkable here with the Landlord and Lady being so pleasant and helpful and all the locals chatty and friendly....

Stayed overnight while visiting. Owners could not have been friendlier. Nothing was left out and the room was beautifully clean despite it being out of season. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful. Thanks for the warm welcome.

A surprising good hotel with a great atmosphere, good quality rooms and a twist in the Spanish service and food. The bedrooms were very nicely finished, and a good size. Breakfast was excellent quality.

The owners have really made an effort with this place. The loft area has been converted to make 3 bedrooms all with ensuite facilities. There are 2 flights of stairs which means there is no noise from the bar downstairs. There are handrails although tall people need to take care as height is restricted in places. We stayed as a...

We recently visited this pub while staying on a Narrowboat in Gilwern. Just a very short walk from the canal this traditional inn offered a simple but tasty menu with big portions at a sensible price. An added bonus was being serenaded by a local folk group who had called in for the evening to practice! The staff were very...

My wife and I visited the Beaufort Arms for Sunday Lunch, this weekend. We have been before on several occasions, and are always bowled over by the warm and friendly greeting and excellent food. This visit was no different. Perfect "old fashioned" Sunday Lunch of roast beef, eaten whilst listening to the banter of the locals in the bar. Keith...

We ended up stranded for a couple of days in GIlwern due to a car rental disaster - there are worse places to end up! We were incredibly lucky to find a room at the Beaufort Arms where we were immediately made to feel at home, something most welcome after spending hours waiting for roadside assistance. Keith and Andrea went...

We had three wonderful nights at the Beaufort Arms during the Abergavenny Cycling Festival (2015). It was genuine hospitality and at its finest! Hosts Andrea and Keith could not have been more welcoming and their home cooking was excellent both morning and evening. The atmosphere in the pub of an evening has to be experienced to be believed . ....

This is a GREAT pub with a fabulous atmosphere. The home made food is brilliant. When I arrived here on a Friday night the place was buzzing with LOTS of life. People having the lovely food, I can recommend the Steak and Kidney pie followed by banana split, and a local darts match being played. The Landlord and landlady had...

A traditional pub with a warm welcome and good beer that serves great value pub food. The menu is limited but all the food is home cooked and tasty with big portions, the pies are a speciality. Only 5 mins walk from the canal, highly recommended .
