Wonderful historic eco managed and beautifully maintained historic Rectory with connections to Thomas Hardy. Sally showed us round the house and gardens with great enthusiasm after a lovely welcome. The food was home grown and cooked perfectly with a large range of breakfast dishes including four different types of smoked fish. Simply sumptuous. Lots to do locally and many coastal...

This was a visit back to the area where we spent our honeymoon 30 Years ago. We stayed in The Old Stables which was a lovely self-contained area of the house with its own woodburner and sofa. It was absolutely perfect. The house and garden are beautiful and have an interesting history with connections to Thomas Hardy and the owner's...

A wonderful place to stay! We stayed in Emma's room, which is very comfortable with a beautiful view of the garden and a very modern bathroom. Sally and Chris were very welcoming. The breakfast was excellent every morning.

We had a wonderful visit at the Old Rectory. The rooms were spacious, showers new, and the heat was just right! Sally and Chris, our hosts, could not have been more gracious with terrific made to order breakfasts and a nice dinner where they joined us along with other guests. The place is steeped in history--Thomas Hardy actually lived and...

A perfect break - this was probably the best B&B we have ever stayed in. We were welcomed by Sally, and Millie, with a pot of tea in the residents lounge and that was just the start of perfect stay. We were there for three nights and thus had the opportunity to try six of the breakfasts - but we...

I stayed here with a friend and was not disappointed. It's a beautiful house set in it's own grounds and is steeped in history. The rooms are well appointed in a period sort of way and are clean and cosy (but not small). I stayed in the Stable room which is excellent and very roomy with it's own mini lounge....

I needed a weekend break and picked The Old Rectory at random. Though tucked out of the way I found it very easily with the directions given on the website. Really didn't know what to expect but was greeted by Sally, the owner, who proceeded to welcome me and take my bag. I was showed to my room which was...

We look to come to stay at The Old Rectory at least twice a year and this was our first visit of 2014. We stayed for nine nights this time and our visit was for the Boscastle Walking Week [a must for 2015 if you've not been before - 18th - 25th April - stick it in your diary]. We...

Welcoming hosts. Beautiful and quiet setting yet quite close to A39. We stayed for six nights and only met one car on the approach roads so it was easy to access, signposted from where your Sat Nav takes you. We really enjoyed our stay and the evening meals and the exceptional breakfasts. We had dinner there on five nights and...
