dropped into the wellington un booked on a monday. Lovely staff, given a very nice spot, very quick alert friendly staff.. Food was excellent. My wife ordered a fish and i ordered the venison plus drinks. Couldn't ask for better food or service. Will be back
Stayed for two nights in one of the apartments. Very very clean and welcoming. Rooms were small but adequate. Had own kitchen, which we didnt use but could at least make a cup of tea. Staff were great and the food in the restaurant was superb. Would have thought that when you pay £195 per night that it would include breakfast but we had to pay extra for that. But overall I would definately come back.
Quick, fast easy, straight forward, staff who know how to make you feel welcome as well as create an enjoyable experience, the room was spot on pip pip, tallyho feelings all round, good size bath, a little high in the building we stayed in but worth the view, recommend the mushroom and pea risotto.
I decided to have an impromptu one night stay in Cornwall so I could see some friends who were staying nearby. I had one of their four single rooms which was small but perfectly adequate for my needs. It was very clean, comfortable bed and nice touches like a bottle of water and tea and biscuits in the room. The hotel is steeped in history, staff are very helpful and friendly and the breakfast was absolutely sublime. Despite being prominently situated in the town it was incredibly quiet so perfect to recharge the batteries before tackling one of the nearby coastal paths. It also has its own extensive gardens which I didn’t have time to explore but I will definitely be back and would highly recommend this traditional hotel which was reasonably priced.
I'd checked out this place on my own back in February, and was impressed enough to come back with my partner for some coast path walking. Our four night stay was perfect in every way; huge breakfasts, very filling and beautifully cooked dinners, well kept local ales. You can eat in the bar, up in the gallery, or in the tower room. My only minor criticism is there seems to be a shortage of staff at table in the evenings. The breakfast room is light and airy; no staff problems in the mornings. A management problem, I suspect. Our room (3) was very comfortable with a double bed and a good hot shower; the hotel is in a very quiet location by a narrow lane to the harbour, away from busy traffic. The staff were very friendly and helpful. We will be back; next time, I must be more organised and call early for a turret room.…
Had a lovely lunch outside in the Garden area, very nice food and excellent staff. Just a lovely setting for lunch. Thanks to all the waiting staff. Look forward to returning soon. Highly recommended to anyone visiting Boscastle in the near future
Never been to Boscastle, what a beautiful place, made all the better by this small friendly Hotel. Absolute joy, no hassle, staff wonderful, so helpful. Food was lovely, wish we had more days here. If you get a chance stay in one of the turret rooms, although of a period (Thomas Hardy stayed here), it fits with the ambiance of the entire area. Lovely walks, so picturesque and everyone should visit this wonderful place.
amazing hotel perfect location. the staff were so friendly and accommodating. the food was amazing. location ideal. the most comfortable bed in the Thomas Hardy suite. the breakfast choice was exceptional. we will definately be returning.
We were looking for a proper gluten free lunch in Boscastle and - after visits to several other places in the village - happened upon The Wellington. We received a friendly welcome and were presented with a proper gluten free menu - what a treat! The food, the service and the overall ambience were excellent and we shall certainly return in the future. Other eating places should follow the dietary awareness of The Wellington as it is so often a struggle to find a decent GF meal.
Just returned from a lovely Easter break. Perfect location a short walk to the harbour, shops etc. We received a warm, friendly welcome and thorough enjoyed our breakfasts each morning. Highly recommend the lovely beer garden at the back and the beautiful woodland walks.
