Spent a couple of nights there, staff were all very helpful. Had dinner in the restaurant twice, because it was easier than going out, food was good though. Breakfast was also good with a lot of choice. Would stay again quite happily.

Visited here for one night. We used Google maps to locate hotel but it sent us to the back of the hotel up a very narrow precarious hillside road. We had to call hotel to be redirected - so ignore Google maps and just drive down to the river side where the hotel entrance is up a very steep drive....

Ok so the access road is a bit steep, & it may test your driving skills, but it's a rural Cornish riverside village! Make the effort & you'll have stunning views of the river from the bedrooms & balcony. Rooms on the small side, but clean & cosy, with peace & tranquility guaranteed! Best of all, the catering! Every meal we...

We had dinner on Tuesday 18th October. We chose the hotel because it had 2 AA Rosettes for it's food. Sadly this was a great disappointment. The restaurant only had 2 other couples and the atmosphere was like that of a morgue. The food was poorly presented and they seemed to make up for the lack of quality by making...

Great welcome after getting lost & driving up the steepest drive. Wonderful room with estuary views. Walked to Fowey thru woods/fields & country lanes - 1 hour. Bus back to top of Golant - walk down to village - 20 mins. Golant has 180 inhabitants - we probably saw four in four days. You cannot get to the pub at...

So glad you enjoyed your stay. Thank you for your lovely write-up. It is good for people to have real feedback about what the area has to offer, as well as what you thought of the Hotel itself. Thank you.

If you have luggage do not book here. The access is very steep stone steps which are OK for walking up but not carrying heavy suitcases or golf bags. When we arrived there was nobody to help with our bags apart from a very tiny sleight girl who would not have been able to carry a golf bag let alone...

Yes the views over the River Fowey are spectacular. It is a delight just to watch from the balcony as the tide comes in floating the moored boats. Food is very good, local, varied, pleasant on the plate and in the mouth. The lounge and restaurant are smart and welcoming places, again with those views. Rooms are fine and clean....

We had a delightful 3 night stay over the August Bank holiday at the Cormorant. Our room was delightful with a Juliet balcony and wonderful river view. Dinner on all three nights was extremely good and worthy of a Michelin star. But best of all were the delightful, friendly and helpful staff who were outstanding and a credit to the...

Great location, hard to find and Yes, the road is steep, but who cares! Upon arrival Lee was fantastic, great guy! Such a laugh, polite and attentive and made us feel welcome. When we got to our room this was clean and well presented with a balcony facing the Marina (what more can you ask for???????????) we had a lovely...

We are SO pleased that you enjoyed your stay, and most grateful that you have taken the time to say so. It is quite correct that it is most often only those who wish to complain who bother to write a review. We really appreciate your kind remarks and very much hope that we are able to serve you well...

Having seen some pretty scathing reviews focussing on cleanliness and ageing decor I'd have to disagree - the hotel is clearly an old building and some of the architecture reflects that but our room was spotless, the linen was crisp and brilliant white, the room and bathroom had been updated to a high standard. Staff were great, chatty and keen...
