On arrival we were delighted with what we saw. Attractive entrance, easy check in then shown to our room and on the way shown where public rooms were. Nice room with good quality furnishings, lovely bathroom and tea, coffee and free drinking water. The bed was very comfortable and the towels were thick and soft. On closer inspection the extractor...

First evening meal finally obtained amidst staff chaos. Meal only OK...next night the restaurant 'manageress' was on duty and it was different altogether...hurrah for her!! Food was better too. Previous reviews mention poor housekeeping and staff training so I won't comment. It's a nice place however, decor, seating, fresh and modern, particularly liked the watercress veloute, and venison dishes in...

Excellent meal. The Fish Friday meal is well worth the money. The staff were friendly and helpful, but could do with a little more training for a boutique establishment. It would also be nice if they served the local St Austell lager.

I spent a week in April in a twin, non-sea view room. There are about 6 non-sea view rooms and 10 with sea view. The twin room I had was with an adjoining door to the next room, so they cater for families needing connecting rooms. Most of the non-sea view rooms overlook the car park, which is quiet enough,...

Just spend a week here and the staff couldn't be more helpful or friendly. Great tranquil location,be repaired to walk up and down steep hill when going to beach but it's worth it. Our only fault with hotel is rooms are not cleaned properly as our bath wasn't cleaned for 4 days and glasses not cleaned for 3 days and...

Stayed 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Arrived on a very sunny Sunday and after checking in quickly into my spacious room headed down to a fabulously sunny terrace where I really enjoyed large Pinot Grigio and Crab sandwich. (Crab sandwich at beach cafe no cheaper.) Could have spent rest of afternoon chilling there but just 2 minutes to...

Our room was very clean and comfortable, with a lovely wide bed and extra pillows in the wardrobe. The bathroom was spotless; a waterfall shower and a hand held option over the bath and toiletries provided. The glass shower screen is so much better than a curtain. The wardrobe also contained a mini fridge, a safe and a fan (not...

Room was large. Bed comfortable. Breakfast very good. Loved the eggs benedict. Dinner was great the first night - mackerel with veg and home made ice cream. Second night we had fish and chips which was ok. Staff all very friendly and helpful. We had a great deal, and would come again. The area is beautiful - even in the...

Stayed for a couple of nights at the Llawnrock Hotel in Gorran Haven. It's the only hotel in this small seaside village and it was so peaceful. There is a lovely beach a few minutes away and local coastal walks to try. Our bedroom was a good size, clean and well equipped including a safe and mini fridge. We didn't...

Staff were lovely and very welcoming. The location is fab, with beautiful views. I can't really comment on the meals as we ate out, apart from breakfast which was good. The reason that I have only marked it as average, is that there were a few things in the room itself that needed attention, One of the light switches didn't...
