I've been visiting Helston every other month on business for almost 2 years. I have to use my company's preferred booking service to book hotels and to try and keep the price down I stayed in the Premiere Inn on the edge of town. It's fine but it was £88 and just a room. By chance, a colleague from another...

It’s not a bad hotel but there are better bed and breakfasts in town. My room - gone are the grand old days for this hotel, the rooms are very dull. There was no wardrobe or anywhere to hang my nicely ironed clothes. I made comment in a very polite way to one of the staff. I was informed there...

The Angel Hotel has a very interesting history dating back to the 1540s. It has been the main hotel in the town for years and the higgledy-piggledy lay-out of the place suggests additional building over the years.. The decor is very outdated, as are the facilities, suggesting that the place could do with a considerable sum of money spent on...

We came into Helston in the dark (about 5.30pm) looking for accommodation for two couples. Tried a bright and friendly looking hotel in the main street but they didn't do rooms so they recommended The Angel around the corner. The lady behind the bar showed us the rooms, all red carpet and white walls and wonky flooring, but we said...

Stayed here for two nights whilst on business and was disappointed in many ways. Returned on second day to find that the room had not been cleaned, no clean towels etc, not what you want to find after a long days work. Dirty linen and bags of rubbish still on landing late afternoon. Food was average and decided to look...

As others have mentioned in their reviews, there is a lot that " The Hotel Inspector " would find needs rectifying. However I must emphasize just how pleasant and helpful we found the staff. Our room was spotless if rather noisy. The breakfast was superb even if the room area required updating. This is a very old Hotel with a...

This is an excellent place to stay as you can easily reach both coasts. The room was spotless and very comfortable. Breakfasts were tasty and generous and the evening meals were gorgeous and very good value for money. The staff were hard-working, extremely helpful and polite. We thanked the staff by sending a gift each as they were fabulous. The...

Emma saves the day. I have experienced this hotel twice now for stays of several days when I have taught in the area and each time the staff have done everything in their power to make the stay bearable. The list of things that are wrong is too long and I don't get the impression the management care about fixing...

Although we did not stay at the hotel itself we spent every night of our 8 day holiday there for food and drinks. We are quite fussy eaters and were unsure of the menu offered but found the chef very accommodating to our needs and altered the menu accordingly. The staff in the hotel worked very hard serving behind the...

If you're after modern chic don't go here, but if you're looking for an old historic hotel full of charm, conveniently situated right on Helston main road then this is the place for you. I have been here 3 times previously and never written a review but I think its only fair to add a positive review after reading other...
