Thats what this place is, stuck in the past and more than a little creepy. The price was fine at $57 with tax for a night & the bed was surprisingly comfy although the pillow was ridiculously hard. There is an article in the "lobby" from a newspaper saying they have 2 rooms with heart shaped hot tubs for some...

We stayed here for 1 night - just to shower and lay our heads down before the big game on Sunday. Everything in Pitts. was booked or short of being first come first serve smoking rooms 10 mins outta town, I came across the Penn Irwin Motel - who had an opening. I spoke with a lady who was pleasant....

They say "We cater to people who want clean, quiet rooms with old fashion touches" and "... if you’re looking for a cookie cutter place to stay with white walls and modern furnishings we are not it." I found this to be exactly correct and enjoyed the evening. The staff was very friendly on check-in; walked me to my room...

I had to stay in the area for a night on business and was looking forward to the stay after watching a PBS show about motels along the Lincoln Highway. Thank goodness for the large Motel sign because it would be pretty easy to drive by without it. The couple who checked my in were very pleasant and quite helpful....

The driveway is hard to notice at first, but is easy to find if you look for the big "motel" sign near McDonalds (I was coming from the non-turnpike direction). The staff was very pleasant at check-in and also when I was leaving. Rooms are older, but very clean and well maintained. Power outlets are only 2 prong (not grounded),...

Room was very clean.Very convenient location to stores and restaurants.Rooms definitely vintage.Low wattage lighting made room feel dark.Beds too firm for our liking, but not a huge big deal.Didn't like the fact that room service was forced on us.During the weekend we came in late and was not able to use "do not disturb" and sleep in. We 'had' to get...

I stayed here by myself on my way to Virginia from Michigan. I like the idea of non-chain motels and helping out the local economy. I checked out the website first, which didn't have much information, but did have a link to an article in the town's newspaper. I liked the article and pictures on the website-both relatively accurate. The...

We spent a few days of a family trip driving the Lincoln Highway through Pennsylvania, and looked forward to some stops at classic eateries and hostelries. This place, near Irwin, PA, was just about perfect. It has been cleaned up and fixed up without losing any of its mid 20th century charm. The walls are dark paneled wood, the bathrooms...

An inexpensive and very adequate stop in a week of travels. The owner was a bit cranky but in the end very accommodating. The exterior of the place might be off-putting (clearly he's at the end of his tenure here and the place is under contract for sale) but the room was pleasant, clean, and all you need for an...
