My fiancee Jackie chose the Prideaux Suite at Penarwyn House for the first four days stay of our honeymoon, and I didnt know what to expect. Fron the minute we were greeted in the drive by Mike, we were treated like royalty. He and his lovely wife Jan made us welcome with tea and cake in the drawing room. I... More

This is as perfect as a B&B can go. We stayed 3 nights in the Prideaux room and our son in a separate single room. Mike and Jan are professionals having run a hotel business in Penzance and decided to calm down a bit in this beautiful house. So you're in for detailed guidance, printed maps and suggestions for eatery's,... More

From the moment we arrived and were welcomed as we got out of the car, our stay at Penarwyn House was superb. Once we settled into our room we were invited to the drawing room for a wonderful pot of tea and slice of cake. Our host Mike couldn't have been more friendly and helpful, advising us where the best... More

one of the best we have ever stayed in. The rooms are spotlessly clean and the whole house decorated and furnished to a very high standard. Breakfast was great with lots of choice and very well cooked and presented. Mike and Jan were very friendly and helpful and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend Penarwyn House to friends and family. We had a thoroughly enjoyable stay in this excellent bed and breakfast. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful as well as providing excellent service throughout our stay. The breakfast was of a very high standard and the afternoon tea we received on arrival was delicious. The attention to detail was also impressive in this beautifully renovated Victorian property. The house is close to the main road but very quiet, it is a bit strange that you have to drive through the grounds of a school to get to the house, but once you are at the house you don't notice the school anymore. The rooms are very large, the service provided by the couple that run the B&B... More

Mike and Jan have lovingly restored this beautiful house in keeping with its origins. They have an eye for detail and have done most of the work themselves. We spent four wet days in Cornwall and couldn't have stayed in a more welcoming, comfortable and stylish B&B (to call it a B&B is an understatement). We returned home one day,... More

My girlfriend and I spent two idyllic nights at Penarwyn House. In my opinion, it is simultaneously very expensive and superb value for money. Our room was perfection itself, and Mike and Jan are superb hosts. The breakfasts are a special treat. We would not hesitate to return.

Management response:

Jan & I are very pleased that you felt the DeCressy suite of rooms was “superb value for money” even though it’s our most expensive accommodation and the only one available at the time of your booking. We work hard to make our guests stay at Penarwyn House as enjoyable as possible and look forward to welcoming you back again... More

My wife and I wanted to take a romantic break in Cornwall to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We planned on going to the Eden Project and the lost Gardens of Heligan, as well as some of the atmospheric Cornish fishing villages such as Mevagissey, Polperro, Looe and Fowey. Our first decision was where to base ourselves, and we decided that... More
