Stayed at the Penventon for a mini break, staff were very friendly, food was excellent, room was terrific, if you want bright modern clinical decor, do not go to the Penventon however if you want traditional old world decor, manners and first class food and service you won't find better

Penventon has been described before as “a gem in the heart of Cornwall” a sentiment that I feel shines through in your review also. We pride ourselves in offering discerning guests not just a base for exploring Cornwall, but a residence to return to each evening that compliments the day’s discovery and interest. Your review is a joy to read,...

Impressive entrance, foyer, sitting rooms and restaurant. Staff very helpful, food in the hotel and spa area first class. Sadly our room no 8 let the hotel down. It was spotlessly clean and small but the decor needed some minor attention. The ceiling had brown marks I would imagine caused by leak at some time and the wallpaper needed some...

I'm not sure about the 'set in parklands' claim but everything else mentioned on this hotel's home page is accurate and well described. Two things make the Penventon. Firstly those who work there from the chap sweeping the patios every morning, the receptionists, bar staff to the waiters, waitresses and chefs. Even the owner joined in serving one evening. All...
