We were all so looking forward to our return break and we were not disappointed . A warm welcome for us and our much loved Poodles. A fabulous hotel with great decor stylish and tasteful . Highly recommended and 5 stars from . We shall return it’s perfect .
Perfect place for an off-season break, with walks from the front door and frequent ferry over to Padstow. Really friendly, helpful staff. Estuary view room was comfortable, smart and clean with great views. Sitting room and communal rooms were welcoming. Breakfast menu was wide-raging with freshly cooked food. Dinner menu wasn't extensive but we enjoyed the choices. Spa treatments were an added bonus.
The hotel was clean and comfortable but the amenities didn’t really reflect the £250 a night price, we didn’t have dinner here but we did have breakfast and although it was tasty the full English fell slightly short of full. Would we return…probably not!
Only a one night stay as we wanted to try this hotel on our way further south. The room was not the Superior Estuary View room we had booked but I’m fairly sure it was an upgrade, to a family suite. It was wonderfully spacious, and stylishly decorated. Excellent views of the countryside and estuary. Good quality tea/coffee/toiletries etc. Even a St Enodoc Hotel re-useable hessian type bag - a lovely touch, as was the local map. The weather was not hot but we still really struggled to cool the room as the window barely opened at all. Luckily a fan was found in the wardrobe, but the temperature never really dropped and the lack of breeze would put us off staying in warm weather. Maybe just that room for child safety as a family room? The lounge areas were comfortable and stylish. Throughout the hotel really excellent paintings from local artists (which could be purchased) were displayed on the walls. The food and service were excellent in the brasserie at dinner and breakfast. The bench seats may not be comfortable unless you are tall, having a hard wooden edge. Luckily my taller husband swapped seats with me and was fine. The staff were all extremely good, professional and with a real can do attitude. They even uncovered the pool on my request for a swim, when they were shutting it down for the winter. They were all so helpful and that made the difference from a good to an excellent stay. The bill on departure was spot on, unlike the other hotels on this trip, so full marks there too. We left wishing we had booked for longer and will definitely return.…
My mum treated me to a hot stone massage and lunch St Enodoc Hotel and we were not disappointed. The massages were fantastic - very relaxing and well done! Lunch that followed was tasty and perfect and beautifully displayed! Will definitely return and would recommend.
.... a year on from the last visit and just as welcoming. Even without the estuary and local hospitality venues this hotel would be a delight on its own. Combined with the physical environment its just the right hotel in the best location. Only managed one evening meal in the hotel restaurant this year but it felt like a better choice and experience than last time. The artwork on display throughout the hotel, from several local artists is beautiful, and the hotel interior is presented in very good condition - as was our room. We will return to the hotel on our annual business trip to the area and, good on the owners who ask for staff feedback and post replies to those customers who complain, that's good management. To explore - walk up the side path and out the back gate onto the lane and explore the public path on the golf course to Enodoc church and the many footpaths through Rock to see the 'other side' of the village than just the road…
Another wonderful stay in a fantastic hotel. As soon as we walk through the doors we feel calm and relaxed. The staff are friendly, attentive and knowledgeable. The food is amazing and we had a superb experience in Karrek. We highly recommend the estuary view rooms. We have already booked for next year!!
Stayed here for four nights in August. We’ve been a few times and sort of know what to expect, its OK, we come for the location more than anything. The hotel decor is a bit dated looking and starting to look very tired, stains, chips, bumps (we have photos). Anyway, we can sort of live with that (just) — what we didn’t enjoy was the noise above us. Basically, a load kids bouncing around all day and late into the evening. Mum and Dad in a different room I’m guessing and leaving the kids to annoy somebody else, how inconsiderate. Plus, being above the restaurant didn’t help, squiffy diners sitting outside talking nonsense till late just below our room window added to it. Oh, and the kitchen extractor fan, low hum, nice. We complained, no rooms to move us into and if we walked, we’d get hit for a cancelation fee, full price of the room (£500 per night), the best they could do was meet us half way, poor, considering this was not our problem. In my opinion, the room was not fit for purpose, I did’t come on holiday to not sleep soundly, isn’t that the most basic requirement of a hotel room — a good nights sleep? We stayed, put up with it (complained every night) and it ruined our mini break. What really annoyed me and hence the review was they didn’t offer/send us a bottle of fizz to the room or offer a free meal to say sorry, not even a few quid off our bar bill when we checked out. And its not an oversight, something they missed, we complained every evening and I had a long chat with the manager on reception one morning. How mean is that? Very very poor customer service.…
Stayed for a week in Aug 2022. Beautiful location, beautiful hotel but breakfast service was dreadful. The staff did not really understand time, requests and good customer service. Waiting for a toast or cup of tea for 30 minutes or more and sometimes does not turn up is not a joke. The owner of this hotel needs to have a proper chat with his staff and give them a lot of training on good customer service.
Pros: - beautiful location - incredible sea view from room - beautifully decorated rooms - Karrek dinner was excellent Cons: - EV chargers all blocked by cars not charging and mostly not even EVs. Particularly impressed with the Bentley 4x4 (number plate: 8 DJS) who felt they were so important they could park across two EV charger points. So we weren’t able to charge in our stay. - Petit Fours was a £7.50 supplement per person (inc coffee) but was one single tiny item despite clearly being plural on the menu… a bit of false advertising that frustrated us at the end of a lovely meal
