A major building extension was just about finished when we stayed for 4 nights (early May), but this didn't detract from the quality of our stay. Our hosts Mark & Francesca are developing a great business here with their personalities and attention to detail for their guests. We had one of the brand new garden rooms (in fact we were...

This was our first stay at The Waterwheel Inn, hopefully it won't be our last. We had a very warm welcome from the hosts and Kernow the dog. Our rooms were immaculate, super clean and very comfortable. We had dinner (party of 5) good choices available on the menu, I had the scallops and the warm beef salad, both were...

four of us stayed in two rooms for one night on April 29th, and ate in the restaurant that evening, and had breakfast the next morning. Despite the hotel having just completed a refurbishment, and the external areas still 'unfinished' the rooms were spotless and comfortable. the meal and service was excellent. The breakfast also lived up to the rest...

Excellent hotel for the area, great food, friendly welcome from Mark and Francesca, also from the very laid back Labrador Kernow. Room 6 not large but everything you need, with a good ensuite. Some road noise as well as the "music" of the rushing stream, which might be an issue on a hot night with windows open, but other rooms...

Welcoming, friendly hosts. Very good food, (catered well for a coeliac). Lovely garden to explore, close to many beautiful gardens i.e. Eden, Heligan, Pinetum, also Mevagissey. Would hope to return to see their further developments.

We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our stay at the Waterwheel Inn. Mark, Francesca, Kurnow & Bailey were excellent hosts. The internal decor is of a high standard throughout, our room was lovely and the gardens are exceptional. The food, both breakfast and dinner, was delicious. We have already recommended The Waterwheel to a number of friends heading to Cornwall...

We loved our stay at the Waterwheel Inn. Great food, friendly staff and good communication with other guests. Kernow the resident Labrador was also a highlight for us as we were missing our dog. Unfortunately we couldn't bring her from Australia but dogs are also welcome guests. St Austell is a good location as anywhere in Cornwall was in easy...

We booked three nights for an Easter break. The owners, Francesca and Mark, are welcoming and friendly without being intrusive. They and their staff work very hard but are always cheerful and helpful. The hotel is currently having some building work done but don't let that put you off. As soon as you walk through the door there is a...

This is now our third visit to the waterwheel and although there is currently building work going on to provide more rooms, the disruption was kept to a minimum. Francesca and Mark who own the waterwheel are a really hard working couple who go out of their way to ensure that all their guests are happy with all aspects of...
