This is a obviously an old inn both from style and location. Traditional old pub downstairs with rooms above. Probably not good if you have trouble with stairs as quite tight and winding up to the bedrooms. Our room was HUGE - en suite has a lovely big shower but was also a big room and shame didnt have a...

We were looking for a reasonably priced deal for 3 men to stay in the Charlestown area while walking the SW Coastal path. The Duke fitted the bill, reasonably cheap, good beer, nice people. The rooms were adequate, shower in the room so was a little strange showering while someone was able to watch you if they were inclined. Toilet...

A really nice place to stay. Quite the local pub with many locals in, the pub was nice, good prices and food also not bad at all. Room was huge with a ridiculously big bathroom which was great. The price for the place was extremely reasonable, would recommend.

Visited on several occasions now. Great range of drinks, good choice of well kept ales and beers etc. Great looking and smelling roast. Friendly, knowledgeable and fun owners and staff, great regulars very friendly. Just wanna sit there for ever sipping. Oh yes, pool table and darts etc and raob lodge out back every other Friday.

Room 4; Our honeymoon; black mould on wall & ceiling of shower room-no ventilation. Chair not clean-stuck to my skirt. Hole in ceiling where light fitting moved-electric light bulb of new fitting uncovered. Damp patch over bed on inner wall & ceiling, I sat on bed (8stone) & bottom rung collapsed. Seriously wanted to cry. Couldn't find another place to...

It was a spur of the moment decision and a desire to visit Cornish Markets in St Austell that I hurriedly booked a room at The Duke . this was an on-line choice and proved to be an excellent choice. Although just a corner pub used principally by locals ,we were greeted cheerfully and shown to a spacious room and...

This was the cheapest hotel we could find in the area. August is really busy there, so it was a good place to stay. I was with a friend and the shower box with transparent doors in the middle of the room wasn't ideal. Shared toilet with 4 other double bedrooms isn't ideal either, but since we only needed a...

We were looking for a 1 night bed as we were going to the Eden Project the next day. As it was, this was the perfect place for 1 night. Small rooms and squeaky floorboards didn't help, however, I will concede that food was decent even though we were told that the chef wasn't in to start with. Needs a...

Stayed here Friday 22nd with my daughter as had a wedding in the area the next day - great little place. The lady who manages the place (sorry didn't get her name) was really helpful and very nice. We had a twin room with shared toilet, was slightly wary of this when I booked it, but needn't have worried. Great...
