My friend and I and our daughters have just had a lovely long weekend stay at Hustyns. I will admit to being a little nervous after reading some negative reviews, however we had a brilliant stay. We were given rooms next to each other with inter connecting doors which was an added bonus. Both rooms were of a good size and very clean and we loved the balcony with great views. We enjoyed dinner and breakfast each day and it was so nice to have breakfast freshly cooked, although the croissants could be a bit fresher!. We enjoyed our treatments in the spa, many thanks Ashleigh for my lovely massage, and my friends daughter thoroughly enjoyed her first facial. The staff in all the depts were very helpful and can't be faulted as was the service. The only one downside is the country lanes to get to you. I was glad I wasn't driving!! All in all we had a great girlie time and have vowed to be back at some time. many thanks to all the staff

Booked an afternoon tea at Hustyns via wowcher. Didn't think it would be upto much and we'd booked to be part of a treat for my husbands 50th birthday. Booked about 3 weeks before we travelled to Cornwall (we are from Cheshire) and was to be part of a birthday treat. The hotel is on the end of a beautiful driveway through fields and woodlands, a huge site well maintained and would be awesome to stay here if you want to get away from it all. As for the hotel itself it is vast!!! Walking through to the restaurant (where we were having afternoon tea) the corridors felt like we were in the hotel that was in the "Shining" film. Yet these corridors are well kept - clean, wood paneling lined and seemed well maintained. On arrival at the restaurant we were warmly greeted by the young lady working this day. She showed us to our table and asked if we wanted tea/coffee. Our afternoon tea arrived and we were very impressed with everything that we were given (on booking we were asked did we have any dislikes / allergies) We spent a couple of hours there, and a walk around the grounds before leaving. We were very impressed and would love to stay in the future. Although I do understand some of the reviews on here about some areas being tired - but in order to put money into the building, the obviously need customers to come and spend. Its a chicken / egg thing! But we thougherly enjoyed what we had. 5☆ guys .. well done 👏

Stayed for 4 days in august ,beautiful grounds ,great facilities and lovely staff. If they send you directions, follow them! We chose to follow Satnav which took us through windy country roads. If you follow their directions through Wadebridge Hustyns is signposted. Everything about the place is nice , would certainly go back for a relaxing time

I know everybody has their own perspective and view things differently but I want to warm anybody looking at this place and thinking of forking out a lot of money, especially given the current cost of living situation, to stay in their so called premium lodges for a week like we did..think again!! We got there on a Saturday and there were several issues related to the upkeep of the lodge such as light not working, broken blind in skylight, no hot water, plank holding up dishwasher unsteady and dishwasher almost fell on my wife when she opened the door! We reported the light, water and blind the very next morning. The big one for us was the hot water not working as we were looking forward to using the hot tub it was what sealed it for us. Anyway we stayed the week without the hot water getting fixed so we never made use of the hot tub. The light was fixed 2 days after we reported the issues - at the second attempt, it was not a matter of merely changing a light bulb. When maintenance were fixing the light we mentioned the blind and the water the maintenance guys were very friendly and apologised saying that the blind had been ordered and the water was an issue other people had reported and was being looked into. In brief we stayed the remaining days of our stay without anyone being sent out and without the issues being put right. To rub salt in the wounds when checking out my wife complained about these issues and reception lady apologised but within 3 hours I received an email from Hustyns saying they were charging us £50 for some non-permanent fruit stain on an area of their carpet which their cleaners had cleaned up anyway. I responded highlighting the issues which Hustyns hadn't addressed and how we felt short changed but they came back denying that the blind had ever been reported and that the water had been fixed the day after it was reported. Total fabrication. I wouldn't be surprised if the people who stayed at that lodge after us would have found these issues - if you are reading this and stayed at lodge 8 from the 20th August 2022 let us know.. It's important for people to know. The whole place looks tired and unloved as many people mentioned in their reviews and if they continue treating people the way we were treated that place will struggle. They have not bothered responding to my last email on this matter...

Five days with two teenagers, left feeling we needed longer as there is so much to do! On wet days the pool is excellent, plus the gym, table tennis, snooker etc. On sunny days there is excellent cycling and walking in the woods and on into Wadebridge, plus tennis, minigolf etc onsite. We were staying in a lodge and it was very comfortable, spacious and quiet; it was a bit dated in places but it all worked. The staff were lovely. We will be back; the value and the range of activities are outstanding.

Great week spent there with family. The staff are outstanding in their service. We enjoyed using all the facilities of the spa although did not use the restaurant. We were staying in a lodge and it was very comfortable and well equipped although, as always, in this type of accommodation one or two minor things needing attention. None of these spoiled enjoyment of the week. Great Centre for exploring the delights of Cornwall. However, if you are nervous about narrow roads it’s not a place for you!

Pros: - Central location - Easy access to leisure facilities and well equipped gym - Plenty of space for dogs to run around - Nice grounds and parking spacing - Decent sized cottage and rooms, sleep family of 6, comfortable beds, good communal areas. - Quiet, peaceful views and surroundings - Nice hot tub, well maintained Cons: - Limited access times to use the leisure club/facilities (has to be on the hour) - Limited hot water supply for the family (no showering at the same time, should advise prior) - Kitchen utensils not fully stocked - No cleaning or maintenance during the stay (towel change/toilet roll restock, although self catering this should be included) - No power sockets in master bedroom - Poor cleaning standard (rugs smell, dead flies, cutlery still got food on) Recommendations for improvement/better experience for future: - Cleaning and maintenance of the cottage - Flexible access to leisure club/facilities - Hot water supply throughout - More power sockets - Grounds to have fruit trees and nettles to be trimmed/maintained - Include bike hire for the grounds (additional paid service) - Fruit gardens/area, local produce, basic shop to pick and purchase Overall stay very pleasant for the family to get together once a year.

We stayed to extend our Honeymoon. On checking in we found the Hotel to be extremely hot. The Receptionist advised we had a balcony and can open the doors in the room to help with the heat. On entering the room we immediately found 2 fans. It was far to hot so we opened the door only to fine what smelt like a bonfire outside. At this point we thought it was near by farmers. My husband went to use the toilet to be greeted by urine left in it. We booked a disabled room as my Husband as Asthma. He was unable to get any sleep as he struggled to breathe. Not every disability is visible. We tried to open the doors several times to see if the burning had finished but this was not the case. Only the following morning when I complained to reception was I told the fire was to heat the pool! Why would you put this near any room let alone a disabled room! I was offered no compensation and the receptionist said she will make a note on the system. I’m no fool and you can’t tell me this has never been reported before. You could smell the smoke in the corridors. All our belongings smelt Smokey. We wished we never bothered extending our stay in Cornwall and will not be returning to this place. Do not stay here!! Also the hotel needs a dead clean. The vents are full of thick dust. Again not great for anyone suffering with breathing difficulties.
