You come here for the location, and it absolutely serves its purpose. There are beautiful views, it is right on the coast and in a very peaceful spot where rabbits were running around. I had a dorm room with a spectacular ocean view. There were only two others staying there at the time so it was comfortable. The bed, blanket...

Glad you enjoyed your stay. It really is an amazing location! YHA Lizard does have wifi which is available in the Lounge via The Cloud which is a SKY hotspot. We did have a problem with it so maybe you were unfortunate to be at the hostel whilst this was happening. Great tip about bringing a torch. All check in...

This place is awesome! Beautiful building, stunning setting, cheap, private rooms available. Clean, efficient, local knowledge, friendly staff and guests. Awesome night watching thunderstorms over the sea and the lighthouse behind us warning with the foghorn. Stunning Breakfast at Polpeor Cafe looking out over The Lizard Point at the stunning sea spotting seals. Wonderful place, a "must see".

It seems I missed your review, sorry Thank you Its good to know you enjoyed a winter stay, maybe it will encourage more people to venture to Cornwall outside of the Summer season. Glad you had a cosy stay, its a great place to snuggle in during the winter especially if the wind is blowing and the sea is crazy....

We had a great stay here and found the people running the hostel very helpful. Our room had a fabulous view and the Self catering kitchen area was very clean. There are lots of places to visit from here and walks that are great in both directions.

we came here just after 4pm last Friday and tried to enquire about a possible room for later on in our holiday. Entrance was shut and no staff. as we didnt have internet access we didnt know when staff would be coming on reception. However there was a note saying fully booked for that evening (ok so what) but we...

Sorry we weren't around to help you but as the site is often run by volunteers we can only expect them to be available during opening hours. Sometimes when we are full it is because we have a group staying who have sole use of the building which would mean that we would not be open to the public at...

I arrived here after walking 14 miles along the coast path. I was tired and aching and looking forward to a rest and a shower. Luckily it was 5 pm or I would have had to hang around outside until it opened. I had pre-booked a room months ago for £39 and the volunteer who serviced me had a printout...

I am sorry we didn't meet your expectations during your stay. YHA policy is to request that all guests produce ID on arrival and this information is included in your booking confirmation. This is for the health & safety of all our guests. As a national organisation offering both private and shared rooms, we have to operate differently from privately...

Stunning view from the room, this fascinating building lays between the lighthouse and the sea shore, lots of breathtaking paths alongside the cliffs a few meters away. Very kind yha volunteers helped me a lot during the stay. Big kitchen, good beds, beautiful indoor (sitting and dinner room with full of light and big windows) and outdoor (garden). Small but...

Our wonderful volunteers really make YHA Lizard a special place to stay. They come for 7 days at a time and work very hard while they are with us. I am very pleased that they helped you to enjoy this magical part of Cornwall. We are always looking for volunteers in YHA, young or old. There are a wide variety...

Fantastic location, right in front of the lighthouse, with wonderful views, coastal walks and extensive gardens but, despite the recent renovation, some of the bedrooms are tiny (for 4 adult men with luggage) and the bunk beds are barely 6 foot. Watch out for the automatic fog horn (especially in rooms facing the lighthouse) as earplugs may be needed! Nice...

Coverackmanager, Manager at YHA Lizard Point, responded to this review

Thanks Jimibean, the building was renovated about 10 years ago by the National Trust and unfortunately room size is not something we can do much about. However as you rightly pointed out private rooms are a bit larger with fab sea views.

We enjoyed a wonderful two night stay recently at yha lizard point. Amazing views spotless clean rooms and good self catering facilities. Nice big lounge and the gardens overlooking the sea are beautiful. We can't wait to go back. Word of warning if it's foggy the fog horn in the light house goes off regardless of time of day or...

Thanks aimehazell, yes the foghorn can be a bit of a disturbance but we do sell earplugs at reception :) Luckily these days its a digital tone rather than a mighty blast so most people barely notice it

Loved the location of this hostel. Great manager, lovely and clean Kitchen was really big and well equiped. Our room was small but adequate as the living room was huge. Do have a pasty from Anns in the village whilst you are here! Really noisy pipes though . . . thought the fog horn was going off!!

Thank ShortEddie
exfordmanager, Manager at YHA Lizard Point, responded to this review

We have had a problem with noisy pipes this year.....I think we have solved it now but you just never can tell in an old building! You can ignore the pipes and the fog horn with Ann's Pasties, Roskilly's Ice Creams and luscious cream teas at every turn...yum
