Briar's should leave the café side of their business alone and concentrate on what they are good at. We have visited Briar's for afternoon coffee and both the service and coffee were woeful. We also visited on a separate occasion for lunch. The food was amazing, but they needed more wait-staff badly.

The Restaurant here (Briar's Inn) was previously a solid and exceptional place to eat. The latest experience indicates that the new owners do not have the same quality and service class as the previous owners held. The food (such as it is) is served cold, the service is lacklustre and the excuses pile on top of each other. And then,...

I recently stayed at the Briars whilst travelling for work. It was a pleasant change from the sterile motels I would normally stay at. Although the rooms and bathrooms are a little dated decor wise, the view and the tranquility more than make up for it!!. The rooms were comfortable and clean and for a business trip lacked for nothing....

My partner and I popped in after a country drive through Bowral. We got there just before 12pm and we're lucky enough to snag a table (will definitely book next time!). Not only was the premises stunning but the food was delicious too! A must visit for couples or family and friends.

Four of us had dinner here Thurs evening and it was a really good experience all 'round. Lovely indoor setting - white table clothes and candlelight - suoerb filet mignons, rib eye and roast pork dinner; nice sides. Wonderful-looking desserts and shared a very tasty lemon tart. A relaxing evening with attentive service, Would definitely recommend and will definitely be...

Lovely setting just outside Bowral. Room very acceptable (but with one slight detraction- no ice blocks in the fridge). Staff all very friendly. The inn within walking/crawling distance and the food was top class quality and presentation.

Last year we re-assessed our original critical review of this establishment and gave The Briars another chance. As we live in the area we visit reasonably regularly, but, sadly, the same old problems continue. Lining up for 5-10 minutes to order drinks (there is invariably just one person operating the bar, but three staff in the background near the kitchen...

Returning from a south coast holiday we decided to overnight in the Highlands. We arrived at the Briars without a booking and received a warm welcome plus a great mid week deal. Our room was immaculate and well appointed with a comfy kingsize bed. We usually stay at Peppers in Sutton Forest but they were unable to offer us a...

The Briars is well placed when visiting the Southern Highlands. Yes it is in the country, but a short drive to the towns and facilities. The motel rooms are clean. well laid out and all the facilities. They open out to lawns surrounding a lovely lake with ducks etc wandering around. Breakfast was also quite adequate. Nothing this close to...

This place is truly lovely, from the welcoming service to the nice restaurant to the glorious suite, which contained comfy couches, a substantial bed with great linen, a dining table, truly fabulous bathroom with separate toilet, and a private verandah. It also has all the mod cons (WiFi, TV with Foxtel, fridge, iron, hairdryer, etc). The view of the duck...
