We stayed in a Queen Balcony room. The room was beautiful, we paid for the romance package which included breakfast, chocolates and wine on arrival and late checkout. We thought it was well worth it. The room was clean. The layout was spacious and the view from the balcony was quite beautiful and interesting to look at. The air conditioning worked well, as did the TV. The shower had two huge rainfall shower heads with an additional handheld sprayer which was awesome.
We booked an in-room massage through and external service and we had plenty of room to fit the massage table.
Overall, couldn’t have asked for a better experience.

We chose the Rydges Campbelltown for it close proximity to Club Menangle. The hotel had a swimming pool adjacent to the foyer but the front desk didnt explain that we needed a swimming cap to use the pool. People with kids under 14 yrs might be surprised when they are not admitted! There is NO information about the hotel in the room and NO information on the the TV. I have never stayed at hotel where have to contact the front desk to ask about the facilities. The room air-conditioning didnt seem to be very effective. I had to contact the reception to have the room temp to be set!!! Our standard room was adequate size wise, but not up to the cleanliness we expected (had to have a chair changed due to the "activities" of earlier guests)! The shower screen leaked badly and flooded the floor. The buffet breakfast was a bit pedestrian for the cost! We reserved a table (or we thought we did) for the evening meal when on arriva on time, it had been given to another couple. The 2 dishes we had were good, but after 10 minutes had to ask where the sides (chips) were. When they arrived after 10 minutes, were good but had to ask for additional aïoli as the original amount was too small for the purpose. Needless to say, there was no tip. So overall our stay was adequate.

Our room was very nice and well maintained. The staff were all extremely helpful and friendly and Australian, which was a very nice change to be able to understand what was being said. The situation was extremely pleasant with the outlook over parkland and gardens which are very well maintained. The meals were very nice and very well presented by staff, Overall , a very pleasant stay, and we would recommend this Rydges to everyone who has to stay in Campbelltown.

Stayed in the executive spa room Whicj is supposed to be one of the better rooms. I must say I am very disappointed with the quality of the room. The bathroom was disgustingly dirty. The shower had like die all over it and the bath it self needed to be cleaned before we could use it. The decor was blue navy blue and the blue pillow and stool had what you would call questionable stains on them which was white and crusty. We went to order some drinks and deserts and more than half the menu was not available.
When we reported the room to the staff the next morning as we didn't check in till late in the evening and all we get is 'I am sorry' and we got a free small bottle of soft drink and a coffee 👌👌 nice work.
I would not go back to this establishment again. I have attached one photo of what the shower looked like. Not very good.

Good Evening Jeff, Thank you for the review you have provided and for bringing these issues to our attention. We are disappointed to hear about the cleanliness of the room you had been allocated, particularly that of the bathroom. Please know that is not to our usual standard, and this information has been passed onto our Executive Housekeeper to review with her team. I can confirm the pillow and ottoman have since been steam cleaned to remove any stains that may be on them. We are also disappointed to hear about the lack of food and beverage options available during your stay. Whilst we do aim to have our full menu available to our guests, unfortunately we were experiencing issues with suppliers not having potential items available as a result of COVID-19 restrictions and lock-downs in certain states and territories. Our chef's and kitchen team do try their hardest to ensure different items area available, however at such short notice this can be difficult, which ultimately means we do have unavailable items on our menu. Once again, we do appreciate you bringing these issues to our attention. Without feedback like yours, we would be unable to rectify our mistakes and improve the experience of all those that stay within our hotel. Stay Safe. The Team @ Rydges Campbelltown.

It has already been a little while ago that we stayed at the Rydges hotel in Campbelltown. We did not have the best experience and I did not think about leaving a review straight away.
My son asked if I wanted to join him to an Athletic carnival in Campbelltown. As a surprise he splurged and booked a room which was 299.00 per night.
He studies in Wollongong so I felt this was very special to spent such an amount on an overnight stay.
Unfortunately the room was poorly cleaned. Dust on the floorlamp, hands on the walls and phone, hair in the cups, bathroom walls unclean. I adressed this at the reception when we went out for dinner and was asked to mention it again upon checkout. Nothing was cleaned after mentioning.
When we checked out, about sn hour later a lady called us to apologise. She sais rooms were normally thoroughly cleaned and she would pay extra attention to it.
I appreciated the call and told her that. I guess I was just expecting something more. Maybe a discount voucher for a next visit or a discount. Our son is only 20 and was disappointed that the room did not live up to his expectation. Especially as 300 per night would have provided him food for a week 😅
Anyway, I thought to let it go but it keeps on popping into my head. Hence the belated review. To keep a customer you need to make them feel valued and special. Unfortunately we did not feel like that after our visit.

Booked 2 nights here in an executive balcony room. Yes it costs a little more for the privilege of having a balcony, BUT they do not disclose that the bar downstairs has an outside area right outside your door. All I could hear while trying to sleep was foul language and at the top of their voices. So I went out and asked the highly intoxicated patrons (RSA?) to keep their voices down and cut the filthy language out. Well I got abuse, lovely. So obviously that didnt work and I go back to bed. Next I get a knock at the door. Up I get and there is the manager with a security guard who stated that a patron of the bar said I flicked a cigarette at them. What the hell? That was it for me. All I am doing is trying to sleep and now drunk patrons at their bar are having the manager and her security guard harass me? So got out of bed, packed my stuff and checked out. The manager was no where to be seen. I do note the reception staff were absolutely lovely, but as for the rest of it, never again. I spoke to a client recently who said they prefer elsewhere than this hotel, now I know why. And here we are in a tourism downturn due to the coronavirus and this is the service you get? Unbelievable.

We did a short drive from the Southern Highlands to stay overnight owing to an early appointment at Campbelltown Hospital the next morning. We were greeted like old friends by the charming lady on the front desk. The room was very pleasant and the bed very comfortable. As the restaurant and bar were not open we had room service for dinner and the food was delicious and very nicely presented. Another delicious egg & bacon roll for breakfast & we were on our way. Really looking forward to our next visit there when hopefully the restaurant and bar will be operating again.

Stayed here while a friend attended the nearby hospital. Hotel is modern, clean and rooms are small but nice. Check in staff ok but not friendly. Close to clubs and other restaurants. We had a lovely breakfast next door in the grounds of the art centre. Beautiful gardens. Hotel itself is way overpriced. Tried to order a drink and they wanted to charge us $5.00 for a “ tray” fee to bring up each drink. On top of an exorbitant cost for the drink. Never ever been charged this fee in all the countries I have visited.

From the minute we stepped in to this hotel and were met with abrupt service we knew this wasn’t a friendly welcoming place to be. The deal we had signed up for provided two beer tasting paddles. The hotel insisted it was one. We had to fight to get what the advertised deal was (including having to show the advertisement to the abrupt disinterested receptionist).
As platinum (now black) Rydges member I was entitled to two welcome drinks. We eventually got one and gave up as dealing with the staff was just too hard.
Food in the restaurant was absolutely lovely, but having finished our meals we waited 40 minutes for someone to clear our plates and ask if we wanted dessert in the not busy restaurant. We just gave up and left.
Breakfast was average (fruit bitter and not fresh, stale croissant, poached egg could be bounced off the floor).
The highlight though was when we checked out and minutes later realised we’d left something in our room. Husband told
by another abrupt and unfriendly receptionist - no you can’t retrieve it because you’ve checked out. Eventually after he insisted someone get it for him then (and she realised he wasn’t going to let her serve anyone else because he wasn’t going to just go away unless she resolved it), she reluctantly organised someone to retrieve our property.
I’ve stayed here years before and enjoyed it. We stay in Rydges hotels all the time and have become used to the easy excellent service other Rydges provide. This one needs a good manager to get in there and overhaul it and get it back to at least being a pleasant experience.

Hi Insularium, thank you for your review. I am sorry to hear you did not have an enjoyable stay with us, however do thank you for raising this feedback so we can follow up. The receptionist you showed the advertisement to has already raised the beer tasting paddle for two concern with the Management Team, and your service within the hotel and restaurant departments has now been advised to our Operations Manager. I hope that you can give us another try in the future to redeem ourselves as this is not the hotel environment we want to give our guests. Kind regards, Jacque (Duty Manager)

We have family up this way, and we tend to stay fairly regularly, and have been to Rydges a few times, each time, slowly getting worse than the last visit. This visit, on Saturday night, will be our last unless something is done. We booked a room for just one night, wasn't overly cheap, ($179), and were assigned room 117. This room was a nice size, however, it was not clean, dust on all light switches, the bathroom needed a good scrub, the sink was badly cracked, when you had a shower, the floor got drenched. All of this, I can live with, however, the air conditioning was non existant, and I called at 2am as we were literally sweating, and was advised that they would adjust it from reception, which they did, and it lasted for about an hour, then the room become hot and stuffy once again. We could hear people in the other rooms, which I know is a part of staying in hotels, however, this combined with the heat and stuffiness made for a very uncomfortable nights stay. When we mentioned it to reception on check out, she just said, write a email to the manager, I can't do anything about it. Basically, didn't give a toss and it was obviously something she has heard many times over.
