We stayed for a week, just long enough to explore, relax and play.
Perfectly located for exploring the area both near and far.
Room had everything you could need for a week - be aware though the hot plates in the kitchen are ‘decommissioned’ hence no pots and pans in the kitchenette. Comfortable bed, good size fridge/freezer. Very nice to come back to the room every arvo/evening and find our bed made and fresh towels in bathroom. Strangely no cushions on sofa (making it less comfortable than it could be) and the shower pressure lower than at home - but these aren’t dealbreakers for us.
Used the pool area quite a bit, enough sun loungers and sun shade - but we went outside of school holidays.
Staff in both the bar and the reception were friendly and accommodating. Enjoyed a drink and delicious local cheese share plate in the Bella Char bar (although the cheeses weren’t labelled which was a shame as we may have sought them out afterwards).
Had a fab week exploring the Minnamurra Rainforest, Bundanon, the Kiama to Gerringong walk (took train to Kiama and walked back along coastal path), cinema, good food in places like the Blue Swimmer in Gerroa and ice cream from The Pines Pantry in Kiama.
Would return!

Our first trip away after lockdown and we were very disappointed. Made a special request with our booking but was informed by staff that they dont pay any attention to those. Checked website before leaving home and it stated that the restaurant was open 7 days per week. We were there for a Monday and Tuesday night and the restaurant was closed. There was no toaster in the room which I fortunately noticed the night before and had to ring reception to ask for one. Breakfast on Wednesday morning was not to the normal standard. Juice had been watered down and the tea was that strong it wasn't drinkable. As platinum members our breakfast should be free but we weren't given our vouchers when we checked in so this caused an unnecessary delay when we tried to leave. There wasn't a hairdryer in the room and had to ring and request one. Despite the Hotel being at about 30% capacity we had guests in the room directly above us who were up at 5am and made it impossible to go back to sleep. Have stayed here many times and each time we leave we vow not to come back. It's not good enough to say sorry all the time for the same ongoing issues or to blame covid for not have the basics in the room. How hard is it to keep your website up to date?

Our recent stay at The Mecure Gerringong was terrific. Service was fabulous, down to it had rained we asked if we could have a tennis court broom to remove the excess water, it was no problem for groundsman who came promptly and made the court ready for play. Room service was faultless and the menu not only was absolutely delicious, it caters for all types of food tastes. The waitresses that brought the food were lovely. The coconut jackfruit curry was probably one of the best vegan type meals I’ve had. Cheeseburger kept us here for an extra night as did the service. Rooms were spotless and spacious. The only slight negative would be the hotel itself physically looks like it needs a fresh coat of paint and the main pool area needs retiling around the pool. The pool near the back of the hotel is delightful. Definitely would stay again. Thanks for the visit.

The Mercure property was taken over by a group of young people from MMJ Real Estate of Wollongong. Their company cars in the carpark were emblazed with their company details. On Thursday evening 19 September, I was denied entry to the restaurant as the MMJ group had an exclusive booking. I was not notified previously of this by any of the Resort staff, either at check in; whilst dining the previous evening and at breakfast or by a note slipped under my door. Resort staff claimed they had sent me an email. Neither my wife nor I, who share a common email address, did not receive such an email! At dinner the previous evening I mention to a staff member I was returning the following evening for dinner, she replied she was not working but did not even mention the restaurant was to be closed! As I had a few drinks in my room prior to dinner I could not drive to the Bowling Club, as rudely suggested by the male restaurant staff member. A Room Service menu was then provided which did not offer any thing I could eat due to my dietary requirements. I reluctantly ordered Fish & Chips - I intended to remove the batter and eat the fish. The batter was so hard it destroyed the fish. I could not eat the meal. At 12 midnight I heard the MMJ group return to their rooms and party which was accompanied by loud voices, shouting, screaming, banging and slamming of doors. I looked out of my room and saw that the MMJ group had removed beds from their rooms and placed them out onto the driveway-parking area, such was also accompanied by much shouting and yelling. The party and noise ceased at 1:00am but I was suddenly awakened at 4:00am by a loud continuous banging noise which was a room door being rapidly opened and slammed shut four times. Restuarant staff told me at breakfast that morning that they had been inundated with complaints, similar to mine but also the MMJ Real Estate staff had removed large heavy pot plants and placed them out into the driveway - car park area. During the course of these disgusting events there was no sign of management or security nor was there any means to either. Upon check out Friday morning I raised my complaint with the Motel General Manager who was aware of the issues and would be contacting MMJ Real estate for an explanation. When I requested some consideration as a result of my very poor experiences, he waived the Room Service charge only but could not do anything on the room rate "as it had already been loaded!". As I departed the property at 9:00am MMJ Real Estate staff were gathered around the pool very much in party mode.

My room was spacious & tastefully decorated. Huge flatscreen television which was great. Loved the view of the trees and grounds from the balcony. One of the things that I will always remember was the absolute silence in the room.
The bathroom was well lit & had a non-slip mat, hair dryer plenty of toilet paper & and great shower head. Sadly, there was no bath. The microwave & fridge were spotless & there was plenty of tea, coffee & milk supplied. Just a shame there were no knives, forks or plates available to use- only two teaspoons. Housekeeping was excellent!
There is a huge swimming pool suitable for families & an adults-only swimming pool too. You can also do a pilates class here & book spa treatments. There’s an onsite restaurant & you can order room service via a QR code in your room. Gerringong is a lovely, relaxing little village & the perfect place to relax. Loved the boutiques, cafes and Indian restaurant just five minutes up the road.
One thing that would have improved my stay would be the ability to charge my phone on the bedside table.

Whilst check-in was a positive experience, that is where is ended. From pre-dinner drinks (Terrible / No service ) to no gas bottles for outside heaters, to table service which was non existent, trying to find service staff to order drinks and food at the bar was a 30 minutes ordeal. Rooms had no TV channels working, the heater ‘ AC didn’t work, and when called the front desk, there was no answer. As an Accor Gold Member, i asked for a late check-out, and told the room was booked straight away, A poor example of a Accor property run by a bunch of rookies, and is the epitome of what is wrong with the hospitality industry in this country.

Upon arrival checked in, asked if our room had a bath tub and was immediately upgraded to a room with one at no extra cost, then the receptionist ran from one room to the other to retrieve our complimentary bottle of wine (very nice touch). Breakfast was included in our package but I got burnt fried eggs twice a bit unlucky I guess, parking there was plenty onsite, also a kids and an adult pool, great if you want a bit of piece and quiet. Bell Char the hotel restaurant very clean and friendly staff, only drawback the set 2 and 3 course set menu a few more choices would have helped the limited but tasty food. The only thing I could fault was that we had some exposed rust on our bath tub a bit unsightly but we survived, overall a good experience and will be returning for a winter stint. Would have got 5 star if no exposed rust on the bath tub and the kitchenette sink was fitted properly and not loose.

Unfortunately our stay was very disappointing, the beds are horrible and are completely sinking, room service was very slow and our room was not made up until 3.40pm which is not good enough. The pool was closed due to cleaning and when I asked if the kids could use the vacant adult pool management refused. Breakfast at Bella char was hopeless with one person running the whole restaurant and many items not available, not even cutlery. As an Accor hotel it was definitely not a 4 star hotel, also the photos online are not current. Staff were unhelpful. Steer clear from this place.

Stayed on a Saturday night and was given a room facing the woods. However, after dinner at the hotel found that one of the windows cannot be closed, admitting cold air into the room throughout the night. The reception was not manned after 6 pm. There were no reading lights nor table lamp on both bedside, making the night most difficult to pass. Next morning, brought up matter to reception at check-out and receptionist was apologetic and offered to waive dinner charges. It was a nice gesture and service recovery.

We stayed here for 1 night on the 28/7/23. We had booked a superior upstair room with a balcony.
Room was very spacious clean, nice bathroom & shower. Room has a microwave which is very convenient.
Location is quiet but within 15-20 minute walk to the beach and local shops restaurants. It is also convenient to lack attractions at Kiama & famous Berry.
Reception staff are very friendly and welcoming.
We really enjoyed our stay & recommend the hotel.

Sorry Elaine, I can't answer that with any authority but in most hotels in Australia the only animals you are allowed to take into a hotel room are service animals.
