Like the rest of Lightning Ridge, the Crocodile is a wonderfully unique caravan park run by an equally unique (in a nice kind of way) owner, Lionel. The friendship he exudes rubs off on everyone, as does the friendliness of all the locals we met. Although the van sites are smallish, they are all grassed, unlike the bare earth of...

We stayed in a cabin which came with linen for the double bed. There were bunks too but we didn't need them. The cabin was well equipped and nothing was broken, unlike some other cabins I've stayed in. No wifi which was a bit disappointing, but we lived. Owners of the park were very friendly.

My family thoroughly enjoyed staying at this wonderful caravan park. With the threat of a croc (statue), pool, clean and well maintained amenities, close to attractions in the main street this park is a gem. With friendly staff at the park and all the attractions, we had a great experience in The Ridge.

A little apprehensive at first as no mention in a Caravan magazine, however concerns quickly evaporated (makes me question the credibility of these magazines?). Very happy with phone booking with Lionel, the owner for a powered van site. Received warm welcome on arrival from Lionel's daughter, Alicia, who walked us to our site to make sure we were happy. This...

Small well run park. Very pet friendly with grassy caravan sutes. You can walk to IGA, hardware, bakery and oodles of opal shops. Very enjoyable stay. Pub across the road and the bowling club just up the road.

Have been "chasing opal" in all opal mining areas for years. Over that time we have tried most parks in the Ridge and now just book into the Crocodile. The facilities are rustic but kept very clean and water is hot. The best part is the camp kitchen and the hosts Deb, Lionel and Aleisha. They make everyone feel part...

We booked 2 cabins for 3 adults and 5 kids who really enjoyed this stay. Was close to everything, awesome camp kitchen, clean and well maintained pool and very tidy cabins. Will definitely book this park when we head that way again :)

Small park family owned & operated. Extremely friendly & welcoming. Great location on the Main Street within walking distance to the pub, bowls club, iga & local opal dealers. The park's swimming pool is a very welcome relief at this time of year. Fantastic camp kitchen, good clean amenities & good laundry area. I imagine this place will be packed...

Only a short walk to all Ridge facilities, tavern next door, bowlo nearby for meals. Friendly family proprietors, 1 and 2 B/R cabins, character amenities, pool, popular bbq, games, dining area. Interesting fellow travellers, opportunity to meet and yarn with a genuine miner!
