Lord Howe Island is a special pristine destination. PINETREES is the place to stay. Everything is organised for you , picnics, walks , tours. Starting every morning at breakfast the friendly staff will tell you the best places to go for your picnic or BBQ (everything provided ) according to the weather conditions , or have lunch on the veranda. A highlight for us was the sensational meals and the early morning yoga at the boat shed on the beach .

What a privilege to experience the hiking adventures on Lord Howe Island with the team at Pinetrees Lodge. Their experience, dedication and care towards their guests, combined with their commitment to sustainability on the Island, is really commendable. The food, accommodation and service were all outstanding. Thank you to the Pinetrees team, I look forward to visiting again in the future.

What a wonderful week in paradise! From about the best and most consistent meals I've had, to the comfy room, engaging and knowledgable staff (too formal a term for this great team) and fabulous grounds and facilities, this escape was just ideal. While I ended up travelling alone, I felt very included in the life of Pinetrees and LHI. Coming back soon!

We stayed as a family of three and can't wait to go back one day! From the moment you get off the plane, the service is exceptional. The staff went above and beyond to look after everyone, and ensure they have the most memorable holiday, both kids and adults. The food was exceptional, rooms clean and location beautiful. We left feeling like we were part of a big family. Highly recommened and we will definitely be back one day!

Returning to this idyllic little island is like 'going home'. This was our third visit to Pinetrees, and it did not disappoint. The Staff are like family, and their guests are treated like close friends, but the service and the facilities are of the highest standard. The food is exceptional. There is nothing to fault, only that we always want to stay longer. After one visit you will ask yourself why you've not holidayed there before!

We stayed at Pinetrees Lodge in April 2022 and was very impressed with the resort. The rooms were super clean and felt like care had been taken to accommodate every need. The staff at Pinetrees Lodge were very friendly, had outstanding knowledge of the island and it was clear they valued the customer and wanted to make the experience the best it could be. The meals prepared and served at Pinetrees Lodge, we would rate as the best we have ever eaten, and we loved the options they provide for lunch in staying at the resort, being provided a picnic, or having a BBQ lunch dropped at one of the many BBQ located around the island. Pinetrees Lodge is a unique and special place to stay and the emphasis they place on disconnecting with one’s busy life and focusing on what is most important was truly achieved. Returning from Pinetrees, we felt relaxed and that we had been in paradise for seven days.

My family and I stayed in the Banyan Cottage at the resort. For a family of 8 it was extremely comfortable. The calibre of staff employed there are of a high quality helpful and pleasant. Due to seriously disruptive air travel, our arrival was delayed and departure delayed by 2 days. The Lodge were both helpful and accommodating in the circumstances for which we are grateful. We did have a lovely unique holiday.

An ongoing celebration of a substantial birthday involving 2 siblings and their partners in a long planned “Bucket List” holiday to Lord Howe Island was long in the making. But was just so worth it! The scene was set on arrival at the airport by the ever friendly Lindy. Her natural willingness to be as helpful as possible and so friendly was a personality trait that we were to encounter with all the multi national staff at Pinetrees. They just went out of their way to make every guest feel genuinely welcome. Lindy’s short tour in the mini bus, followed by our debrief on arrival was more than sufficient to whet our appetites for the amazing experiences on offer on an island that is not very big. After dropping our bags in our rooms (more on that later), it was off on a short walk up Lagoon Road to collect our bicycles that were to be our main form of transport (other than our legs) for the next 5 days. We were fortunate enough to have a Transit Hill Room, just so well appointed and comfortable and afforded us the space to use the comfy lounge area to entertain our fellow travellers after dinner to continue our discussions on our activities that day. Their elegant suites were just as well appointed and comfortable with a private north facing balcony facing one of the lush garden areas. This was a fantastic place for having some quiet time to read a book or have a nap. The Meals!! Pinetrees provides 3 delicious meals (with choices and vegetarian options) per day. The chefs make such wonderful use of as much local produce as possible and create a changing menu of taste sensations. (Do not miss afternoon tea if possible!) The portion sizes are just right so that at the end of each meal you feel pleasantly full with an upside being minimal wastage - something Pinetrees takes seriously in so many ways. At breakfast the staff take note of what activities you have planned for the day as well as to whether you will take lunch at Pinetrees or, take a picnic lunch with you or an Esky of food delivered to your chosen bbq spot. (There are plenty of beautiful spots scattered across the island.) Once again there are ample choices and portion sizes are determined at this time too. We had a picnic one day and a bbq another and both meals could not be faulted with the quality, variety and quantity of food provided. All food items were packed in strong plastic containers that were thoroughly washed after each use ready for the next day. As mentioned before, Pinetrees takes their environmental responsibility very seriously and are renowned for their eco friendly policies and procedures. Just across the road, and right on the beach and lagoon, is the Pinetrees Boat Shed. This is a great spot to relax during the day, shower off after a swim, or, as some of our family members did, take advantage of the pre breakfast yoga classes. What a setting! However, this spot is also THE place to watch glorious sunsets and have a drink from the mini bar that offers beer, bubbles and wines. All you do is record what you consume and your room number. This feeling of honesty and safety (another reason you are asked about your plans each day) permeates the atmosphere of the whole island and its permanent residents. How nice is it not to have to worry about locking your room! Would we return? In a heartbeat! Judith and David Curl Curl

We loved our room in the rainforest and the most beautiful meals on the verandah prepared by the team of chefs who provided us with great choices, beautiful presentation and fabulous flavours. It was only a short walk to the beach with a guests beach house with a shower and drinks available on an honesty system so we could enjoy sundowners each evening as the sun set. The staff were all the happiest, most helpful people you're ever likely to meet and made each and every day a real treat whether it was helping you plan your day or guiding us on the 7 Peaks Walk.
