Stayed in a family room with 2 queen beds which works really well with my young family. Beds super comfy with fresh white linen, room was warm and not to noisy even though we were close to the road. Breakfast was so so good and should not be missed. Easy walk to everything, Marina, shops and restaurants.

This is one of the best hotels I have stayed at. We booked last minute and didn't really know what to expect. As we drove over the hill my heart dropped because I thought it looked more like a motel than a hotel. However once we got inside our room my fears subsided. The rooms are perfect, like a little... When you book your room be sure to ask for the room without a number (room 1) or room 41 (ground floor, fresh and funky and you can watch the TV from the shower). As always the breakfast in "little Nell's" was incredible and set me up for the day ahead. The installation of a lift is a welcome addition... More

Stayed here for 1 night while heading to Brisbane. It's certainly central and close to all the pubs/restaurants. The room was clearly just renovated and looked really good. A few small finishing touches here and there still needed but overall not bad. Bed was nice and Parking was not an issue. I would recommend this place for a short stay.

We stayed here on our first visit to the beautiful Port Stephens area. The rooms are well appointed, motel style with modern bathrooms. The rooms have a small fridge, a microwave oven and plates etc for two. We asked for a room with a view and our balcony overlooked the marina and bay. The resort is close to the marina,... More

Great location - right in the heart of the city! My husband and I were really happy with the choice to stay here for 3 nights. The room was modern and comfortable. The hotel has a nice heated pool. The staff on the front desk were very friendly and helpful. Drawbacks: The hotel was very generous providing many tea bags... More

Really happy with the choice to stay here. The staff were friendly, room was great, has a cafe in the hotel. A added benefit for us was that it had undercover parking for my bike. Would definitely recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the area, and we will be return visitors

Great location. It's a motel but the rooms have been renovated and are very cosy. We stayed in the Deluxe King Spa room. Although spa was not actually a spa but a bath with jets, this was disappointing as we had paid the extra for this reason. We also stayed during renovations so there was a lot of banging going... My wife and I have visited Port Stephens on each of the three occasions we have been to Australia from England, because we love the area so much. Each time we've stayed at The Nelson Resort and wouldn't consider staying anywhere else. The rooms are spotlessly clean and comfortable, the staff have been, without exception, friendly and helpful and the... More
