The Denman is a well appointed, friendly, clean establishment. Centrally located across from Thredbo village and 6 minutes walk to the lifts. The Buffet breakfast was beautiful and the bar beneath serves an array of ice cold beers, $20 corona buckets and creative cocktails that appease the senses! The staff are helpful and cheerful, which made for a wonderful welcome... More

My family of four stayed for two nights mid-week in a one bedroom place at the Denman. The owners and staff are friendly, very hospitable and can't do enough to make sure your stay is pleasurable. The Denman is located just above the Thredbo Village shops, very short walk down the the ski lifts. The on-site Après bar offers great... More

Arrived after a very long day of driving to start off our Ski Trip to be told our room was not ready!. No apology, only told to sit in the library and wait. When asking Judy the Manager of The Denman why our room was not ready at check-in time, she simply answered "well I've checked you in on time"... More

We were made welcome from foot in door, nothing too much trouble. Bar restaurant lounges are cosy, comfortable and very smartly decorated. Step out & you realize you are central to everything. We only had a night there just before the ski season commenced but highly recommend The Denman.

This is a relatively small hotel whose best feature is its location opposite the main Crackenback slopes. However, as a seasonal hotel it has some shortcomings. Our twin bed room had a small bathroom with limited water pressure in the shower. The room door (which was outside the main hotel structure) had clearly swollen over time and was hard to... More

I had been to The Denman restaurant a few times before and was so impressed with the quality of the food and service that I decided to go and stay with a friend for a long weekend. The Hotel does not disappoint, this is the best place that I have stayed in Thredbo by a long way. The Location is... More

I booked for a long weekend, late Friday for two couples, supposedly a two bedroom suite. One of the couples, changed their mind on the dates. I called first thing Monday morning, after that weekend manager / owner - gave "NO FLEXIBILITY". Making it quite clear she had billed my credit card and it was my bad luck. Even after telling... I just returned from a beautiful weekend at The Denman. This was my 3rd year staying at the hotel & each time it just gets better! Judy & Ed, the wonderful hosts greet you like old friends & make you feel perfectly at home from the minute you walk through the door. I stayed in a balcony room which was... More

We arrived at the hotel late at night - we received a very friendly greeting in spite of the fact our late arrival was not convenient. Our room was on the second floor (and there isn't an elevator but that didn't matter) and, when we awoke the next morning, we saw a great view of the ski hill (without snow).... More

This is a great hotel. Lots of stairs to get to our room but it was worth it. Room was nice and clean with a great mountain view. Judy at the front desk was very helpful giving us advice on where to go for a run, and how to get to chairlift, etc. Breakfast was very nice and fresh, the... More

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
The Denman Thredbo, is a family run hotel with an emphasis on warm and friendly service, it is the ideal place to stay, play, relax and enjoy all that the beautiful Snowy Mountains has to offer. One of the first properties built in Thredbo, the building which now houses The Denman has been welcoming visitors since 1962. In keeping with the heritage of our beginnings the rooms are compact and comfortable with the added character of an older style ski chalet. Many of our rooms have views of the mountain and thanks to our central location, you are just a stones throw away from the village square with its cafes shops and bars. The chairlifts are a five minute stroll and if you don't feel like walking the village shuttle bus is at our doorstep (winter only). Take some time out from the outdoors in the Library, Terrace Restaurant or Apres Bar and soak up the ambience and old world charm of our hotel. ... more   less
