This historic house is beautifully restored and full of period furnishings. The Longwood Suite was incredibly comfortable - lots of pillows, a separate sitting room with sofa, soft chairs in the bedroom, bathrobes, nicely stocked bathroom. Gilja, the innkeeper, is a sweet, highly intelligent person who warmly greets you and makes you feel at home. She cooks a wonderful breakfast!

Lovely, perfectly located stone house full of beautiful oak woodwork with a nice shady wrap around porch. Gilja, the inkeeper, is very thoughtful and warm, the breakfast was delicious and our room was both immaculate and tastefully decorated. The house is set back from the street behind a screen of large trees so there is no noise even in the...

My first visit has me commited to come there each time I travel, which is once every two weeks. I have many homes of friends, that I always enjoy staying with as well as clients that have always made me feel welcomed in Deleware and Pensylvania, however with few exceptions, I will now stay here. The warm welcome was excentuated...

I agree with everything jutmoll wrote. Gilja is a charming hostess, who is committed to the happiness of her guests. The Longwood Suite was exactly as described on the website - spacious, luxurious and with quiet air conditioning! The breakfast was delicious, with something different each day. We found there was plenty to do for a 4-day visit to the...

Beautiful house, well maintained, with a lot of attention to detail. And the breakfasts (we stayed three days) were the best ever. Gilja, who runs the place and prepares the food, should open a restaurant tomorrow and serve every meal! Easy walking distance to the small town, easy access to all the area sights: I can't recommend it highly enough.

This is my experience (5/15/12 to 5/2012): When we arrived one evening, Gilja strongly urged us to take a "free upgrade" to another room....I couldn't understand why. Turns out, the room she had booked us in did not have an in-suite bathroom!! She did not mention when we booked the room that there was no bathroom. My husband said, "You...

I picked this place based on the tripadvisor reviews and was not disappointed. Breakfast was wonderful and Gilja's attention to detail pays off in many ways. One commenter noted that historic Kennett Square is pretty small and that is true--so don't expect to fill your day there. Still, it's nice that this B&B is walking distance from the handful of...

We took a long weekend in Kennett Square to see local attractions. We really enjoyed staying here. Gilga was an amazing hostess. Breakfast each morning was delicious. She was very friendly and always recommending local things to do nearby.

This B&B was centrally located for our trips to the Brandywine Museum and Longwood Gardens. The room was very neat, clean. We enjoyed the breakfast and conversation with other guests. Our room was a special deal from the internet. Checked online and there are often one night specials only even though a 2 night stay is requested.

We were fortunate enough to get the last room at Kennett House on the Friday after Thanksgiving. Our main destination was to see the awesome decorations and magical lights at Longwood Gardens for the holidays, but the next best thing was "coming home" to Kennett House and our lovely hostess, Gilja. We were thrilled when she served her delicious french...
