Staying in this hotel, I couldn't help but feel I was in a true road-side lodge from the late 18th/early 19th century. I drank a Yard's George Washington Porter in the lodge's tavern, then strolled up the staircase to the room (one of 8 upstairs rooms). I am no expert, but I think a good bit of the authenticity of...

My wife and I were visiting from out of town and booked a Valentine's Day dinner at Gen. Warren Inne. Excellent dinner. Lobster bisque was fabulous. Soup Nazi good! Service was excellent and food was cooked to perfection. Could not really ask for more. Cozy dining room with warmth of crackling fire.

It was an anniversary dinner. The champagne was chilled perfectly and the service was great. Romantic table for two in the indoor porch. Definitely enjoy their Caesar salad for two. The lamb chops were nicely done and the red wines paired with the meal beautifully. We enjoy this venue for very special occasions. We returned in February for a birthday...

Food was good but poorly and unattractively plated. Reservations were honored. Their waiter/ Waitress staff need more experience. Fireplaces do not use real wood. Facilities are nice. Bar area was busy.

Every year I join my bankers for a luncheon at the General Warren restaurant - which is excellent. This time I decided to say overnight the evening before hand. What a treat. I stayed in the General Warren Suite. The suite was charming with a warm fireplace and very comfortable. Service was excellent.

Staying at the GW was an absolute delight - fireplace in our room (and in most rooms, I believe), excellent meal and personable service. They were more than flexible in helping me arrange a stay to surprise my wife for her birthday. We were talking about returning minutes after we left.

Stayed in the George Washington suite (can view pictures on their website). Felt immersed in history by the 1745 era building. Room/suite was worth the price, making allowance for the age of the building (as one should), e.g. few and small windows. Note that there are not individual heating and cooling controls in the rooms; the owners kept the setting...

The General Warren Inne was just plain amazing! Catherine helped me choose the room I stayed in and was so accommodating on the phone and when we arrived. Our guest room was so spacious and had a fabulous spa shower. The Inne itself had such a warm atmosphere. Our dinner was delicious from start to finish. The beef Wellington and...

My wife an I stayed overnight this past weekend at the General Warren Inne. We stayed in the Benjamin Franklin Suite. Each of the nine suites is different-so I suggest that you look at photos before you book your stay. The Franklin Suite now has a "rainfall shower" with three water sources, which replaces the jacuzzi that used to be...
