My friends in Vero Beach, Florida recommended we stay at Porches in New Hope, Pennsylvania. Porches is a gem-- situated right in the beast part of New Hope. We parked our car and did not have to drive anywhere-- everything we wanted to do was...More
I spent the last two nights at Porches. The first night in room 12 and the second in room 5. Room 12 is perfect. If you can get in to it, DO! The room is stylish. The bed is large and comfortable. The bathroom is...More
We went to a lot of trouble to carefully pick the town of New Hope and lodging to get to know this area of Pennsylvania. We were certainly not disappointed in Porches on the Towpath or any of this experience. Porches on the Towpath is...More
Porches is lovely. The host Bob greeted us on arrival and was even nice enough to carry our bags up to our room. We were very comfortable in unseasonably warm October weather, and our room was very clean and well kept. All the antiques, statues,...More

By coincidence, I just returned today from another fabulous stay at Porches and asked the owners your question. Room 11, which is in a separate building from the main house, is a lovely room that is ground level and has a seat in the shower. (I stayed in this room on a previous visit and loved it.) All of the beds in all of the rooms are high, however, so depending on the handicap, that might be an issue. There are a few steps (three or four) that must be climbed going into the main house where where breakfast is served on the porch in nice weather and in the dining room off season, but they will also deliver breakfast to your room upon request. I would suggest calling the management with more specific details about the handicap to ensure that Porches is an appropriate accommodation. It certainly is fabulous from all other perspectives!
