Stayed here for one night in Room 12. The price is reasonable and booking/check in were easy. We had people staying above us and I know the building is older but you could hear EVERYTHING... and at one point it sounded like they were rearranging...More
A group of five women all 20-30yrs decided to get away from city life and head to New Hope to celebrate our friend/sister's 30th birthday. We stayed in rooms 11 and 12. Everything about our stay was wonderful. The hosts were very gracious and accommodating....More
John is a wonderful host and Porches is a lovely getaway in the romantic town of New Hope (with the edgier Lambertville right across the bridge)... no need for a car but certainly, rent bikes or hike the great paths along the Delaware River.
This seems to be the general consensus here, amazing location with some small negative things that really make Porches just an average B&B.
You just can't beat the location.

When we first pulled up to the Inn, we were a bit disconcerted as it is up an alley near a Verizon storage unit of some sort. However, upon going to the main house and being shown our room in Cone of the outbuildings, we...More

By coincidence, I just returned today from another fabulous stay at Porches and asked the owners your question. Room 11, which is in a separate building from the main house, is a lovely room that is ground level and has a seat in the shower. (I stayed in this room on a previous visit and loved it.) All of the beds in all of the rooms are high, however, so depending on the handicap, that might be an issue. There are a few steps (three or four) that must be climbed going into the main house where where breakfast is served on the porch in nice weather and in the dining room off season, but they will also deliver breakfast to your room upon request. I would suggest calling the management with more specific details about the handicap to ensure that Porches is an appropriate accommodation. It certainly is fabulous from all other perspectives!

Yes. We have ice buckets for your wine. We could (depending on how big whatever you wanted to keep cold) put your food in our refrigerator. However, we do lock the kitchen over night, so you would either have to get it before we leave for the evening or wait until the next morning. Hope this helps, Bob
