Bob and Elizabeth provide a wonderful experience going above and beyond the average innkeeper. Not only do they provide beautiful room in a 250 year old house, they also willingly invite you to join them to watch TV, meander into their kitchen and become part of their family. Elizabeth provides a superb and filling breakfast. Bob provides endless stories about... More

Nice folks, good food. The place needs a little work and some areas were dusty. Not worth $147 a night however. Loved the historic nature of the building and the surrounding town. Breakfast was excellent and rooms were not bad, I just think the price is too much.

What a gem, stayed for two nights while visiting Gettysburg, location is excellent, close enough for convenience far enough to avoid the congestion, the accommodation's are quaint, although I'm sure some people look for modern spacious bathrooms, the fact that the shower was in a closet was cool. Elizabeth and Bob are such a sweet couple, there attention to the small... More

B&B's offer what motels and hotels cannot -- the personal touch. Typically, they are older houses, filled with antiques, run by elderly folks in their 2nd or 3rd career, and quite often for sale. All of the above is true for The Barker House in New Oxford, PA. The Inn is situated on Route 30, one of the oldest highways... More

We stayed one night at this Bed and Breakfast. Built in 1700's it is well maintained, decorated and clean. We had one room facing the street but honestly had a very good sleep. Owners were very friendly and accommodating. We booked just the one night and it was easy to do; most want a minimum of 2 nights. Coffee and... More

Where do I start. We went here for our 20 year wedding anniversary and stayed a week. We stayed in the cottage and wow how quaint! We love how romantic it was. There's a balcony off the bedroom upstairs that looks out over a beautiful garden and pond. You get to hear the bull frog and what a lovely sound!... More

While on vacation two years ago we stopped in Gettysburg to immerse ourselves in the local history. Unfortunately the government was shut down and so were most of the museum, but we made a promise that we would come back someday. On our ride out of Gettysburg we passed through a quaint little town called New Oxford and said if... More

Innkeepers Elizabeth and Bob have an adorable place just steps from the roundabout in New Oxford. They will entertain you with stories about the home and present you with a three course breakfast. My husband reserved a room at The Barker House as part of my birthday present. We arrived to a wonderful welcome from Elizabeth and Bob and were given more than an innkeeper's hospitality. The beautiful surroundings, the wonderful stories, and the history lesson were more than I could ever ask for! Besides that, my husband has an egg allergy. Elizabeth... More
