Thanks for the review. Yes, the hotel lobby is undergoing a complete renovation. Our guests have spoken and demanded a new lobby and we've answered. We're two weeks into the project and expect to have another two weeks to go until we're finished. Until the renovations are complete, there is, unfortunately, no way to keep the lobby 100% presentable. Renovations...

PRO: our room and bed were as clean as possible given how old the building was; location was walking distance to restaurants, sights, and transportation; neighborhood seemed safe; staff were courteous, if not in need of a shave and haircut. CONS: 1. Noise, noise, noise. During the day, lobby construction. At night there was TONS of street noise, trucks (delivery...

Our family was in town for a college visit at the University of Pittsburgh. We arrived to a hotel lobby that was fully under construction. The walls were stripped bare in preparation for paint or paper. During the day there were construction crews actively working with power equipment in the path of guests that were coming and going. While inconvenient...

Thank you for review. I apologize the lobby renovation was an inconvenience. While I understand your frustration, a total renovation of the loby was long overdue. We're working as quickly as we can so that our new lobby will be ready to officially welcome guests. Beginning in December, all guest room floors will undergo a total transformation. New carpet, wallpaper,...

24 hour coffee is fantastic. No breakfast is another $20 or more added to your stay. Rooms are a bit outdated, but clean and staff was wonderful. Location close to campus and free parking are big plusses.

Thanks for the review. I hope you had a great stay with us. Although we don't offer a free breakfast, many guests enjoy the attached Panera Bread Cafe. We are proud to be the only hotel in the area to offer free parking. Our free coffee in the lobby is a bit hit with guests, as well. Come back and...

We are regulars in Pittsburgh because our son goes to Carnegie Mellon. Our usual hotel was booked, so we stayed here. The location is great and the price seemed acceptable until we realized there is a discrepancy between the Choice Hotel (owners) amenities and the amenities at the actual Quality Inn. There is no breakfast with the room. If you're...

Thanks for your review. The Quality Inn is conveniently located near several local universities including Carnegie Mellon. We're the most affordable hotel in the Oakland area. While it's true that many Choice Hotels offer free breakfast, we do not. To offset that, we offer free parking to all guests. No other hotel in the area has complimentary parking. There is...

The room smelled of urine. The room was not made up - the hotel security had to bring us supplies - like towels and toilet paper. The staff (other than the security guard were quite indifferent. When I complained to the quality inn, they sent me a $25.oo gift certificated to stay there again! They're kidding right?
