We love the Hostel On Main and always stay here for our annual Great Allegheny Passage ride. Clean, comfortable and right next to Old Mill Shops where you can get terrific breakfast, pizza and snacks. Nice common area to meet and greet other riders. Also, has basic kitchen w/refrigerator and coin-op washer/dryer. Choose private room or large bunkroom.

Thank you, Will, for the great review. We wanted the Hostel to provide all of the things that we would like if we were biking the GAP. We will be looking forward to your visit again this year.

This IS a hostel, but the features are clean, comfortable, and convenient. The owners are linked with the Old Mill shops, where they are very accommodating to riders. We have ridden the GAPTrail multiple times and this is a must-stop. Bike storage is dry, safe, secure, and convenient. The multiple showers are great; plenty of hot water.

Wanting a roof over our head and some semblance of softness under our backs, we decided to try the Hostel on Main this past June during our Pittsburgh to DC GAP/C&O trip. Having passed the Hostel last year and camped across the river, this year we decided to give it a try. And it was well worth it. Two private...

For single travelers to the Laurel Highlands, and cyclists and thru-hikers on the Great Allegheny Passage trail, Hostel on Main in Rockwood offers quiet, pleasantly situated, and spotlessly clean accommodations (with plenty of free parking for guests that bring a car). The single-traveler rate includes a bunk with pillow and sheets: Towels and blankets are extra. Breakfast is not provided,...

Nice place but get earplugs for the train that runs by very loudly all night. I was the only person there that night but the accommodations were clean and staff was friendly. I would rate it higher but for the train.

Sorry about the train but it is a main line. Also the bike trail is the old railroad bed. Ear plugs are available at the check in office.

Good for the price the only comment was that the mattresses of the bunk beds were too thin. I recommend the massages offered for cyclist. Good location and they own a restaurant that serve good pizzas and deserts

I use this hostel a couple times a year. The hostel is always clean, convenient, friendly people and a great price. The linen is always fresh and clean and the beds are comfortable. Their restaurant has great food for very reasonable prices.

It is what it is...a hostel. Clean, great bathrooms, coin laundry (a must for riders), storage for bike, and great food a couple doors up. Nice lounge area with a decent TV. Bring earplugs as trains run behind the hostel late into the night. Then again, you already know to bring earplugs...it's a hostel.

Best place to stay on The GAP. After a long time in the saddle (so to speak) riding in the rain it was wonderful to arrive in Rockwood and easily find the Hostel on Main. Greeted by pleasant staff and provided with clean bed linen and towel. Shower was hot and strong, after which I washed and dried my clothes...

“You can pay for linens, or bring your own. Bring ear plugs. Beds are adequate, about two inches of soft foam. Enough to give some comfort, better than a sleeping bag on the ground, but not by much. Know that going in and you'll love it. Again, it's a hostel, not the JW Marriott. For what it is, it is awesome and a great value!”
