Hello Missy R, Thank you for staying with us and reviewing your experience. I am sorry that you were not satisfied with your accommodations. Housekeepers make every effort to clean the room with the highest standards of cleanliness in mind, however, with our proximity to farmland on all sides, bugs occasionally make their way into rooms and are removed just... We parked initially at Red Caboose Motel to pick the best spot available for trains going by. We were drawn to the restaurant and quaint gift shop. We took take-out having a burger and water. So hot that day we could have stayed in the a/c restaurant but decided we wanted more to take photos of the scenery. Picnic tables... More

We had a wonderful time on our family day trip to the Red Caboose! They have such fun activities there! Free petting zoo! Great Ice Cream! Such a cute gift shop with a big model train display! The food at the restaurant was outstanding! The burgers and sandwiches that we all had were so yummy! And they have great waffle... More

While we didn't stay here, we walked through on our way to lunch in Casey Jones Dining car. Lots to see, Amish Buggy rides at the depot, easy walking distance to Toy Train Museum, we watched Thomas, Percy and #90 steam as we walked through. Very close to Strasburg. My husband's fav was the caboose painted in Lionel colors.

I was a little nervous about booking here after reading the mixed reviews. I'm so glad I called and talked to Tiffany! Right from the beginning I could tell how much she loved working at the Red Caboose and the pride she felt in it. She said that the new owners were working very hard to restore the place to... More

Was visiting the area taking in the Amish lifestyle and beautiful countryside. Decided to stay here because it was "different" and thought granddaughter would enjoy. First off was quoted a price of $165 for one night which was hard to swallow but paid it anyway ("on vacation"). Apparently we got an "oversized" car. Secondly, the "room" (a genuine railway car)... Stopped by after riding the trains for Day Out with Thomas. We previously ate at the station and paid dearly for mediocre food. So we jumped on down to the Caboose restaurant. Waitress was great. Right on the stick. We got open faced sandwiches piled high with meat at about 10 bucks per plate with salad or soup. Great little... More

Took a quick vacation with my husband and 7 year old son and recalled this motel from many years ago being a cool place to visit. We had a "small Family" caboose...and it was very small- almost impossible for me to function. Basically -no place to sit or put your things. I would recommend using a larger room this size... More

My boys had wanted to stay in a caboose for a long time. When we arrived everything was great, front desk staff was nice, petting zoo, buggy rides... Then we entered our room. It smelled terrible. Then there was trash in floor and a kid binky on floor, not cleaned very well. my kids still excited to be here climbed... More
