Although the owners were very sweet and accomodating...this motel is in need of severe renovations! They have the hospitality thing downpat, like the cute little breakfast nook with a nice variety of food and cakes/pastries and jucie/milk/coffee.....the downside is the grossness of the room. Ours was very run down....walls stained (with God knows what), holes in the walls, very badly... More

My wife and I originally booked room number 4 for 3 days and stayed 5. Our plan was to drive around and compare alternative lodging after our 3rd night. We decided Amish Lanterns was nice enough to stay the extra two. The motel does need some minor work which I assume they will eventually get to. Our room overall was... More

My family (4adults and 1 child) shared a room with two queens. If you didn't look hard it appeared to be clean but when I had to retrieve something from the floor I was flabbergasted. The muck and goo that had collected around the pedestal of the table resembled a science experiment. It was quite evident that it had been... More

It is not owned by Amish, which I thought it would be by the name. The pics on the web site are nothing like the room I stayed in, It was dirty and sheets were ripped. There was dirty towels in the room when we checked in. I am not easily grossed out and I was grossed out. There was... More

Room clean and beds comfortable. Owners very friendly and helpful. Close to major attractions and easy to access. Excellent rate. The outdoor pool is clean and refreshing. This hotel is best for anyone who just needs a quiet place to sleep, a nice continental style breakfast and a dip in the outdoor swimming pool.

I have stayed here on several previous occasions. It is under recently changed management, but with no difference in quality . The staff was very helpful. They gladly did several mapquests for us. The room was comfortable. We are seasoned travellers to Lancaster county and I must say this motel is in an excellent location. Strasburg is a great place... More

After reading some of the reviews on here, I was a little bit hesitant to go to Amish Lanterns, but on arrival, I was so happy that my mom and I had chosen this motel for our 2 night stay. We had brought our dog, and were told we could walk him on the huge "front lawn" as long as... More

My daughter and I stayed for two nights, basically as a base of operations to tour Amish country while taking her back to college. We had misgivings when we pulled in because some of the folks sitting out in front of their rooms looked a little sketchy. No problems, but the property appears "tired" - run down and dark. The... Where do I start? How about owners who graciously allowed me to check in 4 1/2 hours early with my road-weary 82-year-old dad. Not only that, but we were also invited to stop in and enjoy their complimentary breakfast before it closed. We were led to an exceptionally clean and fresh-smelling room.
