We were traveling to PA for a funeral and I can’t say enough how great the staff was. Sally checked us in, we were given cold bottles of water, which Ed, from maintenance went and got for us, and it was so thoughtful. Michael was at the front desk when we came back from the viewing and we were able to sit in the lobby with another family member. We had stopped for wine on our way back from the viewing. Taking out a cork without a corkscrew became quite entertaining, though eventually we were able to borrow a corkscrew. Google had some hilarious ideas on how to open wine bottles without a corkscrew. We were able to have a nice visit with my sister while sitting in the lobby that night. Everyone at the hotel was kind and helpful, which was appreciated since this was not a pleasure trip. The room was fine, the bed was very comfortable and the room was clean. The room did show some sign of wear, but nothing serious. Cleanliness and comfort is more important than anything these days. Sally and Michael both helped us with directions when we needed them, and advice on the area. I may have lived in the area at one time, but much has changed over the years since I moved. I would like to thank Sally, Michael and Ed for everything. Oh, and yes, I did buy them a corkscrew in case someone needs one. Let’s hope no one walks off with it,lol.

. I booked online w/ the faith that pics were as it would be in person. Boy was I wrong. I am an IHG member & also work at an IHG property so I expected a decent place to rest my head. I couldn’t /wouldn’t even sit on the bed. I was alone and felt so let down. It took me til 10 to find another hotel in the area . These pics show some of the filth. The room smelled like a sweaty hell hole. The electrical outlet was hanging out of the wall. The floors were gross through the whole third floor. I had to wait for 15 minutes for the front desk staff to come let me in cuz My keys wouldn’t work. They told me to wait a few minutes for the tv to warm up before I changed the channels. Needless to say I left !!

My wife and I stayed 1 night, arriving at 2 PM. The manager checked my ID, processed our Mastercard, issued a TV channel guide and our key cards. We took our bags to one of the 2 elevators and up to the 3rd floor. Room #326 was compact with a comfortable queen, dresser unit with microwave, refrigerator and nice TV(50 channels), desk with coffee maker and chair, and a large fully outfitted bathroom with tub shower(quiet active exhaust). The secure room WIFI worked fine, the wall AC/heat unit was unobtrusive, the clean 16’ x 32’ pool was a delight along with its hot tub and I rode the bike in the 5 station gym. The 6 AM breakfast was a good selection; juices, fruit, yogurts, oatmeal, omelette, sausage, breads, desserts along with 24 hour coffees This quiet 117 room hotel offered a nice stay at our member rate of $119/night.

The minute I was in line to check-in I smelled mold. I ignored. Thought maybe it was something from the pool area. Really didn’t smell much better when we got to our room on the 5th floor. I ignored it again. Maybe I was just imagining it. My allergies flared up and the smell was not pleasant but I ignored it. We were here for a fun family time. We had a fun family time watching the Rail Riders and visiting a trolley museum. We were also able to take a train ride along the Lehigh River. It was a rainy and cold Memorial Day weekend but we had a great time. Anyway, we had a great time off-site. On-site the staff was amazing! Clearly understaffed. I could see the same people working the entire time. We arrived on Thursday. Today is Saturday. From the staff at the front desk to the breakfast staff to the dinner staff we had very pleasant experiences. From the man that had to unclog my toilet that wouldn’t flush before we unpacked (and sorry to be gross only urine.) to all of the staff - very professional. On Saturday I walked past the bathroom in my room. I heard water dripping. I thought maybe I didn’t fully close the faucet after I washed my hands. I checked. It was fine. Walked out but still heard water dripping. Looked at the tub. Maybe the tub?? Tried making sure the tub faucet was closed tight. It was. I still heard water. I was very confused. I happened to look up. Water was coming out of the ceiling above the tub. At first just a little more than dripping from the ceiling to quite a lot of water. I was so concerned I called my husband to make sure I was seeing what I was seeing. I called the front desk. I took a video of what was happening to show the staff. I don’t want to get anyone in trouble but the first person of the two that arrived said I don’t see anything. The second said we can dry it. (I’m guessing he meant the wall.) Then I said I took a video of it. Then the verdict was that it was a leaking pipe. Again. I watched these two workers working hard my entire stay since Thursday. I just think they didn’t know what to say. I didn’t expect an answer. I just wanted to let the hotel know. But then I understood why this hotel smells like mold. I am reporting the facts as I’ve experienced them. I am positing that the mold smell I’ve encountered this stay is not from the pool. Maybe faulty piping? Maybe something else. I’m happy to be leaving in the morning. I’m a person that can put up with a lot but I don’t think the staff is being treated fairly and there is something wrong with the building itself. The building needs to be checked out. I would not stay here again unless the situation is properly addressed. Fast forward to last week (June 15) when I finally had time to call customer relations. (I sent his message through their website TWICE. I HAVE GOTTEN NOTHING in response. NOTHING.) I have been trying to contact customer relations over the past two days. I have spent a total of almost 3 and a half HOURS on hold. I need to speak to someone about the very unacceptable conditions at this hotel during my stay. I have a video of water pouring out of my bathroom ceiling that I would like to share.

We were greeted at the main desk by a friendly receptionist who took the care and time to answer any questions we had about our stay. I found the staff of the front desk at any time of the day to be attentive to our needs. When we went to the room it had two beds as requested, a refrigerator and a microwave oven. However, the room was cramped. There was a desk that was a little over a foot from the bed which made its use impractical. We had to pull out the desk chair and put it between the two beds [away from the desk] to make it usable for sitting on. There was a wardrobe/armoire at the far end of the room which looks like it was put there as an afterthought. The right door had a loose upper hinge which looked like it could fall off at any moment. The left door when opened hit the light cord plug in the wall outlet which is a fire hazard if the cord become damaged from repeated use. We wanted to take a shower after our long drive but found that there were only two sets of towels, one small soap and one small shampoo [we had three in the party]. So, we put that off until we got an additional set from the front desk later that night. We wanted to brush our teeth and wash up before going out to dinner but the water from the sink came out rust colored. After running the water for 15 minutes it started to clear. At the same time, we decided to check the tub which came out the same rusty color which required at least a 15-minute running of water to flush out the nasty discoloration. Later the same night when taking showers, the water temperature was only warm, the shower never got fully hot. The following day the first person had a hot shower, the second person had a luke warm shower and the third person had the coolest shower. The shower curtain smelled like a stale mop. The mirror on the outside of the bathroom door was loosely connected or not connected to its plastic anchors which meant you had to make sure the door was not slammed to fast or it would fall of the door. There was a black discoloration at the wall-ceiling joint in line with the air conditioner, was this mold from a leak or mold from the air conditioner? The maid left by noon on the day after we arrive so our room was not taken care of. We had two garbage cans that needed to be emptied. Two of the pillow cases had been stained prior to our stay and we wanted them changed. Since we had to take a shower in cool dirty water the night before we wanted new towels. The front desk was able to oblige us with new towels, soap and shampoo. Our stay gives me the opinion that there was no attention to detail or routine maintenance by maid service/management/supervisors. It was liked the room was slapped together as an after thought with old left-over furniture from other rooms. If our water was that dirty rusty colored when was the water last run in the room, definitely it was used to clean the room that day prior to our arrival. I have stayed in this hotel a number of times and usually the lot is full of cars, this was not the case during both days of our stay this time. Either covid has taken its toll on reducing travelers to this hotel or maybe the disarray we saw was seen by others and they are not providing repeat visits.
