When I booked this inn for four nights, it looked like I found a somewhat reasonably priced B&B in expensive Charleston. It was centrally located for walking to sites or catching the free shuttle to the historic area. The rooms looked spacious and had everything we were looking for - free wifi, free parking, mini fridge, and they served a...

Great little historic B&B in the center of everything, within walking distance of the city market, great restaurants, King Street shopping, museums, historic churches and sites. Nice breakfast on the weekends; however, they hold back during the week. Be aware that you are in the area of college student housing, so it does get very noisey and active on Friday...

srRecently took a quick pleasure trip to Charleston with my wife and stayed at the Barksdale BB. While the place could use a coat of paint here and there, I'd still rate this place excellent. Great location - convenient to everything. Once we parked the car - they have on site parking - we never moved it again till we...

We stayed for 3 nights in room 7. The staff were all very pleasant and cheery. The Inn is centrally located for historic Charleston and within walking distance of lots of sights. We appreciated the onsite parking and it was great to be able to leave the car and explore on foot. The breakfasts were tasty and there was a...

We are glad to hear that you enjoyed most of your stay! We are aware of some painting that is to be done throughout our inn; however, we are company owned which means some issues are not handled as quickly as we would like. The staff at the Barksdale House Inn does their absolute to work around any issues that...

We really enjoyed our stay here for one night. The inn is a lovely yellow house very accessible to the historic downtown area. There is a good size parking lot in the back. They were very generous in letting us park before check in time and keep the car there for a few hours after we checked out. The continental...

Sandy and I celebrated her retirement by a getaway to Charleston SC. We stayed at a B&B, the Barks-dale House Inn located near the heart of old town Charleston on George St. between Meeting St. and King St. Now I have an on and off relationship with B&Bs. I think you pay a lot of money for a small room...

Ideal location, free parking and excellent breakfast, were only three of the many things that made the Barksdale a pleasant stay. The staff were very attentive and friendly. I would recommend, and visit again.

The location of the Barksdale House as well as the customer service were both great. However, I felt that the property could use a little updating . The carpet was completely torn the length of the room, and the bathroom was old and dingy. Old architecture and charm is one thing, but I felt that it just was not well...

I had only one night in Charleston for a work trip, and I'm so glad I stayed here. It's a lovely place that is centrally located. The breakfast buffet provided a lot of variety, and the staff makes some great treats that they put out in the afternoons and evenings. The room I stayed in was large and comfortable. When...
