The barksdale house inn was fantastic! They allow pets, which was very helpful for us while passing through the area with our cat. The room was very cute and quaint, and the staff very friendly. Definitely gives you the old timey experience while also providing close access to all the shops.

We were looking forward to our stay in this picturesque hotel in Charleston but we had a very disappointing experience. We slept in the carriagehouse in room number 14. Hotels come in many flavors but in the end they have to provide the customer one thing and that’s a good night sleep. Well, to us this hotel couldn’t live up...

My wife and I love staying in B&B's while traveling and the Barksdale House Inn is a great choice with a very convenient location. Charleston offers a lot of B&B choices. We chose the Barksdale because it offered free parking and a very reasonable room rate. As is typical with most hotels, check-in is after 3pm, yet we arrived around...

My wife and I very much enjoyed our stay here. The price was reasonable compared to other B&B's and included free parking. The breakfast was not elaborate but surprisingly healthy -- they had Kashi Go Lean, oatmeal, hardboiled eggs, nice fruit (strawberries, blueberries, etc.) among other things. We walked everywhere we went in Charleston no problem. The room was nice...

A cute bed & breakfast on walking distance from the city center. A beautiful old historic home, we were staying in a room at the carriage house behind the main building. Room was clean, spacious and the people at the front desk were lovely. And what a great city Charleston is, so much history. Lots of nice restaurants too.

I booked a one night stay 4 weeks in advance through Inn's website based on location, price and free parking offered. The Inn contacted me three times over the weeks to ensure I knew about the cancel policy, 3 days in advance. Each time , I responded that I knew, accepted policy and had every intention of keeping the reservation....

We took a weekend trip to Charleston and wanted to stay somewhere authentic to the historic area. We got that with our room at the Barksdale. The location is so close to everything that we never drove and the breakfast was delicious! Only areas that could use improvement are the upkeep on the exterior of the house and more attention...

We stayed at the inn for one night. The location is about a 15 minute walk from East Bay the restaurant strip. It is close to a high end shopping street if that is what you are going to Charleston for. We were in #11 in the carriage house which was simply decorated and clean enough. There was a pedestal...

This was my first trip to Charleston. I was totally happy with the Barksdale House Inn. Everyone on the staff was super-friendly, the place itself is charming, and the breakfast I had on Sunday morning was terrific. The little back porch and fountain were great for an afternoon siesta with a book and a glass of sweet tea. The location...

A great B&B. Would go again in a minute. Well tended to, comfy bed and ammenities, iced tea in the aft, wonderful buffet breakfast in the morn, and a short (2 blocks) to the university or into downtown. Parking included. Go!
