We just got back from Charleston for a wedding this past wk we. We stayed two nights. Everything clean. Breakfast very good. Coffee, snacks available was nice touch. Everyone was helpful. We walked and took trolley. Great location. We would stay again if in Charleston.

Enjoyed this B&B for several reasons: its fantastic location, which made walking to historic sites and restaurants very easy; its staff, who were very attentive and fun to talk to; its offering (thru a private company) a great historic walking tour of Charleston; and the nice room with gas fireplace to relax in at the end of the day. These...

My husband and I spent one overnight at this inn to celebrate his graduation. We did a staycation as we live nearby. The inn is in a great location - easy walks to King St., the market and East Bay for world renowned restaurants. I was a little concerned having read some reviews on Trip Advisor, and we did not...

Our family of four had two rooms for two nights at Barksdale House and it proved to be a great choice. Rooms 3 & 5 were very charming, the beds comfortable and the weekday continental breakfast was all we could want. It's location is perfect for the free trolley, the house itself was a talking point on the horse drawn...

Convenient parking around the back, access down side. Missed some touches that make for a better b&b experience. Not sure why some b&b's and hotels feel the need to offer shampoo and conditioner but not shower gel. Breakfast was a Hampton inn style affair - a choice of breads with only one choice of topping (philly), commercial fruit yoghurt cups,...

I had the opportunity to visit Charleston with my family just before Thanksgiving, and in looking for a quiet, off the beaten path place to stay, we settled on the Barksdale House Inn. Located off of a side street in a generally quiet neighborhood up near the College of Charleston, the Barksdale House is still within walking distance of the...

Just visited over the Thanksgiving holiday weekend. The place was clean and nicely decorated in the old-fashioned but stylish manner that says "old Charleston." It is also very well situated, being right in-between Meeting St. and King St., two of the main downtown streets where there's lots happening (great restaurants, clubs, shopping, museums, etc.). Unfortunately, what stood out, to the...

Not for the adventurous type. Nice rooms, quite and clean with a nice breakfast. Aimed for the couples in the age range of 50 and older. Great walk to town and water plus a purk to the markets and rain bow row. If uou are under the age of 50 i would not pick this but would rather a hotel.

First of all, I was shocked at the reviews below, but I have an inkling that they are all part of the same disgruntled family. Our experience (and that of many couples and families before us) was stellar! We travel often, and as my husband is British, we have stayed in B&B's all over Europe. This inn was fabulous for...

Room was very small and lighting was terrible. We have stayed at many B&B's and this was, quite frankly, the worst one. Parking in the back parking lot is not easy, so dont attempt it with a large vehicle. Staff members , with the exception of Kelsey, were dour and quite unfriendly. No greetings unless we instigated them, and even...
