The hotel was the original Citadel, so it has historical value. The rooms are spacious and nice, but the noise from the center "parade" room travels upward. The breakfasts were excellent with outdoor seating available. We were able to walk to most places, and the free DASH bus took us everywhere else. However, the buses have weird schedules and are...

This was our 4th time staying at this hotel. The location is great, walking distance to most things in the historic district and shopping on King Street. The rooms are typical for an Embassy Suites and it's really nice having the separate living space when traveling with kids. The breakfast is good and very convenient, it's a buffet style so...

The room was comfortable and the complimentary breakfast was amazing. The area around the hotel was equally satisfying. These are the only reasons we provided three stars. The largest downside to the entire stay was the noise made while trying to sleep. We had a wonderful room on the first floor which began to degrade at about 4:45 AM. The...

My wife and I had our first honeymooon there 20 years ago. We decided to do it again for our 20th. It was great! Thank you to Jeff, Derek, Stephen, the valet staff and any and all staff for making our 20th anniversary great!

I was on a business trip to Savannah Georgia and had 4 days off in between my work days. So I took my parents with me and headed on up to Charleston for the first time. My mother wanted to stay in the historic district so I found this hotel and used my Hilton points to reduce the rate. We...

We stayed 4 nights in April and had a room with an old gun port in a thick, old brick wall. Each morning the breakfasts were awesome with personalized service and lots of seating inside and outside in a garden. Each evening they had a "happy" hour with wine, beer and hard liquors and delicious finger food. It's a large...

Property is nicely located but rooms were expensive and in desperate need of renovation. The room we stayed in 110 had windows which faced into the hallway. The carpets felt dirty and the pullout couch had crumbs left in it. For four hundred dollars a night, the price was not matched to room. I felt that I was sleeping in...

I expect more from an Embassy Suites. The location is excellent, so if you want to park the car and explore Charleston on foot this is a good option. Rooms are smaller than normal Embassy Suites rooms and are "well used". I did not find the beds to be comfortable. The staff is a mixed bag. Some are excellent, and...

Lots of really nifty properties in Charleston - most of which rather expensive. So, we opted for Hilton's Embassy Suites in the historic district. Wish I could remember the name of the dark-haired young man who met us at our car when we arrived. Great ambassador. Handled getting our luggage stored because our room wasn't ready. Parked the car. When...

We spent 5 nights here on a recent vacation to Charleston. The hotel is quite historic and nice, the rooms were spacious and the staff was wonderful. Free breakfast is cook to order omelets and full breakfast which is wonderful. The property needs to be renovated it seems, the rooms are dated with poor HVAC systems that are antiquated and...
