Despite the beach construction in Winter 2017, we still had an amazing time here and the woodland campground on the estuary is one of the best RV camping places I have been, big sites with tons of space so you barely see your neighbors. Great nature trails and bird watching and plenty of saltwater... probably a fisherman's paradise!

Other than a few restaurants and one grocery store, this quiet island may be one of the last untouched beaches on the east coast. Its packed with history, culture, and a warm feeling. The locals are welcoming and treat you as if you've been friends for ever.

We drove down for a day trip to check out the park for a future stay. Overall pretty nice with helpful staff. The beach is nice and not too busy in late September. Lots of ants everywhere and mosquitoes too, but that's not unusual. We want to come back and explore Botany Bay when we have more time!

We camped sea side aside from rain we loved it. You walked right over the mound to the beach and water. The shower house sea side is not as nice as the big one non sea side. But the park is clean and has electric tent and rv set ups. The outside spray off spot is nice also. Only thing...

We stayed in the end of July 2016. We stayed in a RV and quickly discovered that one leg of the electrical hook-up at the campsite was out when our air conditioner wouldn't work. We contacted the maintenance crew, who were quick to respond but did not know how to trouble shoot the issue. Luckily, my husband is an engineer,...

What a special beach. We lucked into a two-night reservation (someone's cancellation, I'm sure as this is super popular). We loved it - just sorry we missed the turtle program. Small than Hunting Island so quiet. Easy access over dunes. Clean and a lovely getaway.

This campground is adjacent to a wonderful beach. Nice chairs and beach umbrellas are set up on the beach for campers. There are many seashells on the beach, so water shoes are recommended. This is a sea turtle nesting site which adds to the appeal of such an unspoiled natural site. There are riptides, so most people are wading, sunbathing,...

Stayed for a week, 2 nights camp ground site 26, and 3 nights in Cabin 2. It was a fully relaxing and wonderful place. Great atmosphere if your looking for quiet and relaxation. Charleston SC is about 45min to an hr away for additional variety. Beaufort SC is about equidistant and fullnof wondeful food and excellent artsy shops on Bay...

Warning: This is THE most visited state park in SC. This is our go-to beach, 4-5 times a year. We reserve beach-side sites far in advance and cancel as needed. Sometimes we have to move from site to site, but we're used to it. Sites are not very private but we're at the beach, just steps away, most of the...

We recently tent camped here in the Live Oak section of the campground as the ocean section was full. The road to the beach section of the park is a main road so we couldn't ride bikes there with kids but it was a very short drive and not a big deal. At night when everything is quite, you can...

“This is a real "getaway." No commercialism just you and nature. But near conveniences such as the pier and the "Pig" grocery store. Great beach and kids have a ball. Camping is the primary place to stay in the park. Great rental homes in very near vicinity.”
