My husband and I stayed here for two nights as part of a timeshare initiative. The first impression of this hotel should give you an indication of what you're about to live in for 2 days. The entrance way was dirty, unkept, garbage strewn all over the place. Then you entered the lobby which was Barren except for maybe a table and a few chairs not the best impression to say welcome to my hotel. Then don't get me started on the elevators, I felt like I was taking my life in my hands going into the elevator. They were disgusting and scary as hell. The elevator on the right I thought we were going to fall through the floor because the floor was loose when you stepped on it's, you felt yourself sinking. The room itself had furniture that reminded me of a dorm room plus there was no room in there to maneuver around at all. They had a balcony but there were no seats or chairs to sit down. The sink was outside of the bathroom area and there was no soap so everytime we needed to wash our hands we needed to get the soap from the bathroom which was attached to the shower wall. The beds were Lumpy. Now to the outside they had a pool which was actually clean, but there were no towels for the guests to use. There was a hand sanitizer stand but the hand sanitizer receptacle was broken off so there was no hand sanitizer around. The barbecue that supposedly you could use I wouldn't put my dog's food on it, how disgustingly dirty it was. One night as we were coming home the alarm in the lobby was ringing and we were nervous to go into the elevators. My husband called the front desk because there was a phone in the lobby and he called to report the alarm and they just told him don't worry about it. That made us feel so much safe and secure

Plenty of parking, good variety at breakfast buffet, walking distance to beach, and comfortable beds. Bathroom needs a makeover, looks nothing like the photos. No fan in bathroom to help with ventilation. Inside of toilet was dirty when I checked in. Bathroom had moldy spots on the walls because of no ventilation, and some rusty areas in the bathroom. The down button on the elevator on the 3rd floor does not work. Have to hit the up button then whatever floor you need to go to. I reported it to front desk, not sure if an attempt was made to fix or not. Also elevator seemed dirty. Several people could not find the reception desk because it is in a different building than the hotel. Need more signs to direct where reception is located, because the one sign does not help. WiFi is horrible and kept disconnecting.

I cannot even express how awful this hotel is. Do not stay here! Pros: this hotel was close to the beach - about a 10-minute walk, nice pool and breakfast was good. Cons: $30 fee to check in early when told room was ready -well it wasn't even ready. The room had not been cleaned and the refrigerator was broken. I won't go into details but it was hard to unsee the filth even after we complained and were switched to a new room after 1.5 hours- not without attitude from 2 staff members - I was blamed for not coming to get the key for the new room - excuse me but I paid 2,000 for 6 nights - talk about adding insult to injury. You will need to do your own housekeeping - the housekeepers do not enter the rooms so be prepared to call front desk daily (rarely answered phone and voice mail full) for towels and put dirty towels in hallway along with full trash cans. Had to replenish tissues and toilet paper myself either by going to front desk to ask or take off of "housekeeping" cart in the hallways. Hmm... never been to a hotel in all of my travels that did not have housekeeping. This hotel should be closed at least temporarily to get their act together and clean/fix the place up. In addition to all of these hassles note that you will have to walk 5 minutes to the reception area - it is in a separate building from the rooms. Security doors never locked and no staff on premises. Other misc. - couches, chairs filthy in rooms and reception areas disheveled, carpet worn out, plaster peeling with cobwebs, elevator floor cracked and seemed unsafe, difficult to regulate A/C in room. To wrap things up it was almost a full-time job to stay here - pretty close to ruining my vacation.

We value our guests like you. You are what makes us strive hard to make our hotels the best we can be. Thank you for staying with us. We wanted your stay to be comfortable and convenient, but we missed the target. I know how important cleanliness is in this day and age. I am sorry that we fell short and your room did not allow you that luxury. I understand the inconvenience of having to call the front desk to request service and the hassle that may have caused, this is not the smart and simple travel that our hotels are known for. I will make sure to let the entire team know about your concerns for the necessary improvements needed. I hope we get the chance to serve you again and create a better experience for you in the future. Safe travels, Kyle J. Reilly General Manager

This Holiday in isn’t up to the standards of most Holiday Inns I have stayed in. Shower had rust and dirt around the bottom area where the caulking is. The ceiling had black stuff on it that looked like mold. 1 small mirror over the sink No chair on balcony The pool water was very dirty. The reception area is down the street room the building we stayed in. I would never stay at this hotel again.

When we checked into this hotel, the main building that is used to check-in and for breakfast is separate from the building with the actual rooms. Our taxi dropped us off at the main building and we had to hike a good distance to another building with all of our bags to find our room. No help was offered. Upon the third day of our vacation, I noticed several little bites on my leg. I have not 100% confirmed they are bed bug bites, but after reading extensively on it, I highly suspect it. The shower was awful! The handle fell off when I tried to change the temperature. It also made a loud, motor like sound when the water was turned to hot. The shower head was not in good shape and didn’t have any pressure. The floor of the bathroom, lobby, and elevators were all dingy, as were the walls too. Pictures attached show mold in the shower. The fridge needed defrosted and was rusty. I asked the front desk a few questions about local transportation, but they were unable to answer any of those questions. On our final day, we checked out and had to pay a “resort fee” of $18 per day. I don’t understand what we were paying for as there were no resort amenities available. There was a guy trying to sell time shares in the hotel commons one evening. The fountain in the pond was broken or turned off outside our window too. Trash littered the grounds. A broken tree branch was lying in the path the entire time we were there. Due to COVID staff are not cleaning rooms during the stay, so no clean towels or linens or new rolls of toilet paper unless you want to hike and go pick them up yourself. There was no air in the elevators or hallway. Our Uber driver told us a story about how he got stuck on an elevator in the building! Again, I have no idea what the $18 pays for—no amenities, no housekeeping, no help with activities or travel. I have had good luck with Holiday Inns in the past, but there is no way I will be booking here again, although I do hope to visit Hilton Head again soon!
