I have stayed at Lookaway Inn several times over the past 5 years or so. Accommodations are just what one would expect from a non-corporate independente hotel: unique, charming and unpretentious. The continental breakfast is more than sufficient; it is self-service with ample choice of fresh breads and bagels, instant Quaker oatmeal, orange juice, refrigerated fruits, and other tasty fare....

The house itself is beautiful and we'll maintained. The grounds surrounding it are also well maintained though the fire pit has some weeds growing in it. We arrived on a Friday evening about 5pm. The Inn Keeper checked us in and showed us to our rooms. The room are spacious and clean. Each room does not have the ability to...

The most beautiful and impressive house. Came for getaway with girls...moms, daughters, daughter-in-laws and lots of antique shopping. Arrived to sweet, but not overly friendly check in about 4:30. "here's your keys, I'll take you to your rooms, and I leave at 6:30p.m. and won't be back to 6:30 a.m.." There is no one on premises and entire big house...

This is a unique Anti-Bellum home with a wonderful downstairs, the up stairs was being refurbished. We stayed in the back building, rooms were like deluxe motel rooms, high ceilings and wonderful linens on bed and in bath. The reason we stay at B & B's is because of the previous but even more important is the breakfast and hosts....

Gorgeous home full of great antiques! Wonderful view of the town. Room is comfy. TV could be a bit bigger but it made us concentrate on each other instead of watching. Very nicely furnished. Looking forward to continental breakfast in the morning and wandering through town. Neat history about our 7th President

The Inn is gorgeous. The rooms are spacious, comfortable, and clean. The bathrooms are very spacious and the private balcony was nice The downside is the miniature televisions, traffic sounds from the main road at all hours, and lack of access to the main building. The stay felt very cold and impersonal. It was a beautiful property and very well...

This is a beautiful southern mansion. We spent 1 night there in March 2017 on our way to somewhere else. Our room was large and clean. However, since we were the only guests that day, the person who checked us in left right after check-in (and couldn't get out fast enough), locked the "big house" so that we could not...

We had a wonderful stay at the Lookaway Inn. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable on the elaborate history of the Inn and the town. We had our breakfast and coffee outside in the courtyard and for lunch we walked to the SnoCap (an old Diner) then walked around the rest of the downtown area. The owners were very...

We had to evacuate Hilton Head due to Matthew the hurricane. Nice accommodations but the driveway is quite far from the rooms. Made good friends with the Innkeeper and she was the best part of the stay. Rooms were clean and pretty quiet but one could hear people above. I would return again only for a short stay.
