We were looking forward to stepping back in history. At first glance everything looked fine. Upon further inspection the mansion needed a lot or work and a good cleaning. Our room, very spacious, bed comfy, but dust around the edges of the floors. My huge disappointment was the claw foot tub. No way was I going to take a soak.... More

We traveled to visit with family and absolutely loved our three day stay. The food was amazing, the hospitality received from Peggy and her family will not be beat. She fed my daughter a bottle so that my wife and I could enjoy a breakfast together. Something we have not enjoyed in over 12 months. The house is a tad... More

I spent another delightful few days at the Inn, have been coming since 1995. It is showing its age, with peeling paint and plaster problems, but this is a great place! One very fun part of the stay is sadly no more - JD the Inn Cat died in late April after a very long and pleasant tour of duty... More

My wife and I stayed here for one night B&B before doing some travelling in SC. Flight delays from the UK and Newark meant we arrived at Merridun at 1a.m. local time. We kept in touch with Peggy as our delays unfolded and she welcomed us on the front porch at this late hour. Peggy's warm welcome and offer of... More

Having read a previous review where the person didn't stop after seeing the peeling paintwork - I can only say that they missed a most amazing experience. When my husband and I first arrived at Merridun and saw the peeling paintwork we wondered if we were going to be let down as we had been in Charleston (The Inn at... More

I pulled up in the yard and was too scared and disappointed to even go in! Peeling paint, dilapidated rocking chairs, rust. It looked like General Sherman had just passed through! The web site is definitely grounds for false advertising. Worst looking bed and breakfast I have ever seen. Such a shame to allow a place that was once beautiful... More

When looking for a Bed and Breakfast to go to this year for our anniversary, we looked online for somewhere different. For the past 2 years, we have stayed at The Inn at Merridun. We wanted something different. But after looking all over the web and checking rates and rooms, NONE beat the deal we get at the Merridun. Peggy... More
