Sometimes we just have to lower our expectations when we visit other places. For the price, I expected something more than bare mediocrity. The room was HOT when we checked in, and had a musty smell. The elevator was the slowest I think I have ever been on. The whole place is old, showing its age and infirmities. That super...

This hotel gets terrible reviews on Priceline, so I had very low expectations. However, it was adequate. Very dated, but clean. It was so cheap I didn't expect much. The breakfast is very lack luster, but there is nowhere to eat in De Smet, so you are pretty much stuck with it. Overall a clean hotel with great customer service.

Decent place for a visit to the Laura Ingalls Homestead and other places in town but kind of weird. A lot of rules (random signs like no swim suits on the bed, no large cups for juice at breakfast, cereal is not allowed to go to the room, and milk is for cereal only), not cleaned well. Decor is dated

The room was spotless, comfortable, and convenient. Signed in, got suitcases, carried them past front desk up to second floor. Room wasn't ready. Carried things back downstairs and told young clerk room wasn't done. Wasn't her fault she didn't know. So, room fine and clean but front desk personnel has poor attitude and needs training. We went to supper, drove...

The Super Deluxe is a very nice hotel and is right off Hwy 14 East of town. Rooms were comfortable. The breakfast area was kind of cramped and the selection was not the greatest. Cereal, bread, and fig newtons was basically it. Breakfast should be served in the adjoining banquet room which allows for amble space. Notices on bond paper...

I expect at least a clean room; this was not. Not only was the carpet never vacuumed-during my stay, but also there was a giant black "hand print" in the shower, indicating that wasn't clean either. Décor old/out dated....bedding- well worn (= worn out) and please, don't disguise the pillows ( also worn out) with funky covers that justify never...

Handy place to stay if going to the Laura Ingalls Homestead. Pretty place, clean, comfortable. The breakfast was great. Several kinds of cereal. Even more choices of bread, bagels, English muffins. Even some fig newtons. Will go there again if in the area.

We were in town to visit the Ingalls Homestead. With three kids, this was our only hotel option in town. The hotel could use an update/scrubbing. The pool was highly chlorinated and a strange green color. The rooms were worn. The breakfast was non existent. Toast and Fig newtons. The check in person was friendly but the check out person...

De Smet has a lot to offer you if you're looking to enjoy the small town feel in a homestead plains setting. The local Super8 is a great little spot to stop on a budget and even has a pool for the kids to enjoy indoors. The rooms are very clean and updated. The staff is extremely friendly and accommodating....

Connie and Larry made our night at the hotel a Great time with grandchildren. My mother and I stayed at the hotel while visiting the Laura Ingall Wilder farmstead.with grandchildren and great-grandchildren. They swam in the pool, ate pizza than swam again. We had adjoining rooms which made it nice for the kids as they all felt like they were...
